Sadly its all geography if you were in Scotland you'd be ok but sadly the RFL are more bothered about expansion than preserving those with a history. Shame about that but even if you can get 100,000 people in that group the RFL will never listen because theyre not bothered about anything but what they "think" is the best thing to do.
I mean Crusaders went under in South Wales, Moved up North went under again and have been allowed to continue.
To me, even though your team went down too, means that you should stay in over Crusaders. Crusaders are a failed attempt twice over in only the three years and in North Wales offer very little for expansion. Sadly Yorkshire has far too many teams in the league and if theyre gonna get rid of someone then they pretty much need to get rid of a Yorkshire team for fairness.
What some people are forgetting though is that you may actually have a better application than some other teams. Just not other Yorkshire teams. You sadly have the lowest average attendance so far this year, you went under and youre the only team that hasnt set up a new stadium.
Any team going is a shame but sadly thats the way of the new system. Chances are though that if you sort your new stadium out while youre down there you may get straight back in.

| As far as I'm aware Cas haven't "set up a new stadium" of course I may have missed something!!!
The rest of your post sums up the situation fairly well!! Although there. Is nothing in the franchise "rules" that say anything about having less supporters in a geographic/county location.

Its sadly nothing to do with support and thats the problem with it. If it was then you'd get in over Salford, Crusaders and Quins but it doesnt work like that as the RFL will NEVER be logical.
Quins today showed exactly why they need to be given up on or moved to NL1 for 3 years to learn something with less financial burdens. 1900 crowd at a team losing 2million a year fairly useless youth setup and all in all only there because it's a London team.
But however thats the only problem. And Cas have set a stadium up:
www.castigers.com/page.php?id=729
Sorry to be the barer of bad news but sadly it is true and sadly it also seems that I'm the only Wigan fan on RLFans that supports you in your plight.
I remember fearing being relegated a few years back but at least we had the opportunity to play our way out of it whereas yours is based on ridiculous statistics but sadly this is the franchise system that your chairman (assuming its the same one) signed a yes to a few years ago (I assume they needed 100% agreement).
This last point is pure curiosity on my part, as someone with a vested interested in marketing, how much do your club market things? Do they put up posters, TV adverts etc? Or is it simply the website and thats your lot? (as is the way with about 10 of the 14 teams from what I can see so dont think Im having a go Im just interested.)

| Tv adds, large billboards on a few busy roads in wakey, website, posters and outreach work ( team and marketing team in town centre sat offering memberships etc). Also linking in with local rags abit more than previous. Getting better on marketing front.
Not saying it will be the best but we are promoting games more in recent times.

Was hoping you'd say that.
TV Advertisements show that you are making the effort to improve this is something that the RFL rate very highly.
Except when they're just making their own rules of course.

Look I'm not a troll so dont act like that with me.
If you read what I said I said "set up" that means that they've set up a stadium for the future that will be built through planning permission obtaining funding etc etc.
Just like Saints or how Leeds have setup a redevelopment of theirs.
Sorry to disappoint but they have a new stadium coming and thats fact.

| What is frustrating is the fact that Wakefield Council passed our planning application, we have a developer who is funding the build. But due to Leeds council opposing the planning we have to go to a public inquiry which doesn't start while December this year.

There was nothing in my post to suggest I was treating you like a troll at all - don't be so sensitive!
And Cas do not have a stadium set up, any more than we have. In fact they are likely to be at least 18 months behind Wakey now, with having to find a buyer for WR.
To achieve that sale, they need to gain PP for change of use to retail - the application for this takes a long time and costs something like £200K (IA will know in much more detail).
Then, when a buyer is found, WR will also go to PI (unless the govt actually start practicing what they preach about streamlining local planning issues).
A long way to go yet, for both clubs.

The only thing that cas have is a better spin doctor.
The press, sky and maybe even the RFL have bought into this concept that they're about to move into this mythical new stadium. Whilst they now have full planning permission for the site, they do not have, and never have had, the money to build it. There was a lot of bluff and careful timing of announcements prior to Wakefield's administration, but after that they felt confident enough to reveal the truth. Their application is based on their current stadium and although they 'hope' to move in 2013, in reality they have no idea when, or even if, it will be built.
I'm sure you've heard the tale of the Emperor's new clothes.
There is no stadium!
Perception is everything; reality is nothing.
Rant over.

The RFL employed a company to offer independant advice on the state of play regarding stadiums, none of us are privy to what the outcome of the report may be and if they take any notice of it.

If that is the case why is everyone so worried? I think if Cas are in that situation then they dont actually have any stronger an application than yourselves apart from administration, a part they removed from the rules so they didnt have to kick their precious Crusaders out.
What are your attendances in comparison to Cas? And hows the youth setup?
Sometimes theres a kneejerk reaction before everyone thinks deeply about it. I get used to it alot on Wigan's board "Finch is rubbish"
"Pat is shocking" etc etc.
Proved wrong werent they? lol

| In very real terms Wakefield are now ahead of Castleord in the race to build a stadium!
We have the funding in place and are some way down the line in the planning process.
Castlefords stadium is now back to square one in the planning process because they can not build anything until the new supermarket gets full planning permission and the haven't even drafted an application yet!
Cas have planning permission to build a stadium but no money to build anything at all!
We will build before Cas!
