Sorry but no he wouldn't IMO.
I agree he is knowledgeable and I don't doubt his integrity but it takes more than that to run a full time team. There was nothing wrong with the integrity of the club at the time, maybe his face didn't fit - it happens. But let's not forget it was he who brought his friend Shane McNally over not the club so please explain why he did OK and Roe didn't. From what I heard at the time he lost the dressing room very early on, a certain Mr Wood being a big problem - but that was his job to sort and he didn't.
I think the reality is that Roe got his chance in the top flight 5 years to late and the game had changed to much - we all have a sell by date.
Like so many things in RL or sport in general it's best to move on. |

Whether that is true or not, it's certainly the case that he hasn't been given another opportunity at the top level in this country, which like it or not, is Super League. I don't think Peter Fox's involvement at that time helped, but it's water under the bridge. Nearly 10 years on. |

As I remember, money was made available for McNally which hadn't been there for Roey. A major ingredient in any coach's success story I'm sure you'll agree. That may or may not be the only reason why PR didn't last.I know that the influence, or should that be interference, of another former Wakefield coach didn't help. |
