| National league standard player, who must have something on the management to get a game at superleague level on a regular basis imo. Its easy to come on here and critise and alot harder to do on the pitch but having played in same side as him and having spoken to current players in superleague i think its fair to say that he must have something on the wildcats brains trust to get selected.

Martyn Holland has to be up there he was the best defensive full back I have seen at Trin.
My first thought when Blaymire dropped that ball last night was of the sad sacks on here wetting themselves in excitement because he'd made a mistake. Has a full back been more exposed then Matty was last night? He was constantly left on his own facing 2/3/4 Saints players running through the other 12 Trin players. If people think that Matty is a problem let alone a big problem for us then they are sadly deluded.

| One bad game and the knives are out. Don't get me wrong i'm not Blaymires biggest fan but normally he's defensively sound, he just had a bad night. If it keeps happening fair enough but hes earned the right over the years to be able to right the wrongs of last night.
Although it is fair to say he offers bugger all going forward!

How attacking can a full back be when you have 15% possession in an entire half?
I don't think he had that bad a game dropped a high ball but other than that was just left very exposed by his team mates.

| We had plenty of possesion last week and he offered nothing going forward then either! Or for the previous two seasons come to think of it! But his strength is that he is usually defensively sound.
As well as the drop he got caught out positon a couple of times last night which is unlike him but as I said derserves a chance to rectify it.

No I'm not out of line, but in attempt to promote harmony I'll modify it to an "idiotic comment IMO" which is as fair as I'm willing to be as regards the posters outburst.

| Not a great day at the office for Blaymire last night, but he doesn't deserve to be singled out; his only howler was the missed bomb, and that can (and does) happen to any fb, any week.

If you paid attention you will see that Blaymire is nowhere near one of the high kicks and there are at least 2 or 3 players near this. He had to sprint to try and catch the ball and ended up over running the catch as a result. Loads of people watching this game made ill informed comments until i pointed this out. He didn't have the best of games but don't think he should have been thrown into this game. Was Josh Vievers injured..?

All those people who moaned about Ted have to have something new to moan about now so we are back to the usual "Pick a scapegoat" scenario.
As an aside it was good to have JD back as our guest of honour the other week.

Seeing as though the club is being run in a vastly more professional manner, nobody needs to moan about the administration anymore, you are certainly right there.
As for scapegoats, its a shame but we are all human, and even those who place themselves on a higher moral ground, have been guilty of it, its called fallibility i think.
Don't particularly think Blaymire was all that hot at FB against STs, but now is the time for supporting the players not slaughtering them, however that does only go so far.

| i remember watching replays of some of the tries and blaymire was shouting our defence to slide across but they werent reacting quick enough- maybe this was all blaymire's fault as well was it? he's a couple of matches back into playing and he's trying. I bet the people bashing him now was kissing his backside when he was 'Mr Consistent' two seasons ago.

And to be fair he got by far the biggest round of applause of all the old players we've had back. Although probably helped by the fact we could actually he what he was saying for once

| I can't see why certain people get so hot under the collar about the perceived negativity of some fans; very few people have bagged Blaymire or any other player recently, apart from the usual suspects who are, to put it kindly, a bit eccentric.
It could be argued that an overly cynical view of your fellow fans is just another form of the negativity that surrounded the club last season and in my view, could be equally divisive; a perceived clique of self-styled 'real fans' or people associated with players or staff and who will brook no criticism of either, constructive or otherwise, is neither helpful nor welcoming to the new or casual supporter.

| The defence brigade usually go too far. As for Blaymire he had a poor game and it happens and it's inevitable to be discussed and raise a few negative comments. Just human nature.
But on another day when he has a good game I'm sure the same people Inc me who have stated he had a poor day will be praising him for the week.
The defence brigade on here do seem to take serious offence to some opinions of fans re; performances and then we get the slanting matches which tbf I do not look at the user names as I can't be bothered and usually skip.

I agree that so far things have gone relatively well, it would be churlish to suggest otherwise. However I think you're jumping the gun slightly by stating it's vastly improved - it's far to early to tell. So far it's been fairly cosmetic, yes in it's own feelgood factor way that's important. That said many of the really vital underlying issues regarding the club are yet to be addressed. Now I accept that there has been no time to act as yet, but the fact remains that they still very much exist and until action and results are evident I don't think you can make such bold statements.
I'm not suggesting the same scenario is about to happen but for the first few month under Pearman everything seemed to be heading in that direction then bang - I'm a bit cynical but then we have good reason.

Do they! Come off it. No one is suggesting any player is above constructive criticism. However blaming one player calling him this and that is not on. Sure it's human nature, if your nature is that of a total ar*e. To say it's the defence brigade that go to far is clearly ludicrous, it's obvious to anyone that it's the other way around. Still let's defend the lowest common denominator - it is the British way or it's certainly your way - still using your logic I'll do well to ignore your user name in future.

That is exactly my point I have never felt that way about him, I have always felt that he does not run the ball back when he catches it, at best he runs side ways with it, you watch other FBs and they run hard and fast towards the opposition.
I do sincerely hope that my view can be changed on him, but I was not just saying it after a bad game last week, as all players have a bad game from time to time, it is just how I have felt about him for the past few years.
I do not want to just "bag" players, and I understand it must be very difficult to play in a team like ours at the moment, as every week we are coming up against stronger / more experienced players, but hey ho that was always going to be the way this season!

| Suit yourself. I don't come on here to argue with you. Your not that important to me and I suspect is true of you.
When i say too far i mean when childish comments and personal digs start entering the discussions. Maybe I should have balanced my statement more with respect to there been two factions of our clubs supporters who clash like a civil war. Those who openly air their opinions on poor player performances (not always constructively and sometimes childish) and the set that take offence to these opinions and respond in stern defence mode (not always constructively and again sometimes childish).
Neither sets of supporters are wrong they just differ in opinions on players performances and that's their paragotive.
As for blaming one player, I don't agree with bagging a player leaving the other 16 on the field unaccountable. I do not partake in this whereas some may desire to.
But this is a Blaymire thread and I put my opinion on blaymires performance in which he made 2 crucial errors leading to trys and thus not his best day at the office. That doesn't mean I think he's a bad player.
If your or Anyones opinion differs from my own then I can live with that.

| Wakey Tom, I entirely agree with you,we have at least two far superior fullbacks in murph and vivers, blaymire has, and never will be a super league full back. he cannot break the line, doesn't follow the ball and doesn't tackle on the line. He is, and always has been a liabilaty.
I know i will be shot down by the "goody goody brigade" on here, but we have better at the club.
