| All these people who want John Kear out of Belle Vue ought to consider this:
Before he came, we were almost accepting the fact that we were gonna be relegated from Super League after a dreadful season with players not being fit enough, never mind strong and being guided by a bloke called Tony Smith who without confusing him with his Australian namesake, was a sound scrum half may have been the saltest of earthly fellas for all we'd have known, however he was way two pally towards the players and seemed a damn sight happier on the golf course rather than on the training field.
Once he went, in comes Kear and miraculously gets us out of the relegation trapdoor, then what happens after that: the crowds grew at Belle Vue, after two close calls of getting to the playoffs, we made it there in 2009 and not to mention semi final stages of the Challenge Cup Final. But today's catastrophe cannot blamed on Kear alone, no; those "players" must shoulder the majority of the blame as they should not need reminding of what they, who they play for and how to perform, if that's the case, then those souls should speak now.
Now a lot of you will probably be wondering what if we get rid of coach now: maybe something along the lines of being refused a franchise and therefore quietly fading away into a less distinguished existence and all because of too many gutless players who couldn't care less.

| lets not instantly shoot down an opinion about a coach/chairman/players etc
jk has done extremely well with what is basically a team of misfits. also has a policy for bringing youth into the team which is second to none,
however as a club whenever we produce a quality player we sell him or lose him to a competitor brough, atkins, ellis etc.
the performances we are seeing now is a direct result of this.
personally think we need to invest in some good quality otherwise mediocrity is what we have to look forward to.

Well unless the bloke with Toppo back in 2001ish has found that cash, it is, and will stay, as it is. So frustrating when things off the pitch at the club are light years ahead of those days!

Very easy to be interested (I'm interested in owning the club, I'm also interested in marrying Cheryl Cole), however actually going through with it is a whole different matter.

| No point in having a go at JK the players have got to as much if not more of the blame they are the one's out on the pitch.I have also said that you cannot lose a scrum half as talented as Danny Brough and expect the team to be still firing on most cylinders ,until we replace DB we do not have anyone to lead us round the field, therefore i think Ted should be straight with the supporters and tell if money is available or not and if the answer is not then where as all the money gone .

| Time to get real here I think and face facts. We as a club at the moment can't compete with more than half the rest of the league in terms of financial clout. Yes crowds are up - fantastic - but still we are still well under the average. Kear has done a great job so far and this season we have been patchy, but let's not fall into delusions of grandeur like the Wire lot and start calling for his head for a run of poor performances - we are punching above our weight, and the overriding reason for this IMO is John Kear.
Especially with all the off field disruptions he's faced with over his time at the club and then this season to lose your Star playmaker, hooker and now potentially your arguably his best prop?
Get a grip - storm in a teacup as far as im concerned.

| With respect to license points, the club could finish 11th but still be classed as averaging a top 8 place over the last three seasons so there is some scope to play with on the final league position. I don’t think the club will reach the playoffs but sacking Kear is not an option.
As many have said the club punch above their weight and have done for the last three years. We have a small home support and pretty much operate on a knife edge financially which means the club are not the most attractive outfit for the better quality of players. Trinity are lacking at HB. I don’t think anyone realised just how much we relied upon Brough. Yes he was an awkward, petulant little so and so and he had bad games as well as good, but he did provide the direction and spark which has been severely lacking since his departure.

| financially speaking the club should have the money to bring in some quality. brough tronc and newton were all big contracts.
also have to take a look at our quota players for me.
is blanch any better than morton, murphy or george?
does millard offer anything that is not available domesticaly
if tronc goes then how much difference would it make if we put gledhill in there?
one thing the youngsters will not do is walk around like a bunch of uninterested ramblers on a sunday afternoon.
i hope they are all banging on jk s door this morning.

Blanch doesn't count towards the quota, i believe he's exempt from the non-fed regulations too.

Thank you, saved me having to right something similar.
This is a waste of forum pages. JK is by far our MVP.

yesterdays game had two lucky tries against us and players just shrugging their shoulders and not putting in the graft, the last twenty we seemed to pick up the pace or more panic and it failed, this needs to be instilled from the start but we know that,
we'll see either a change of attitude by the players or player power once again
there a couple of players I would drop and wouldn't see another game of rugby for me, let them waste away in limbo

| Getting rid of JK is not the answer.
We need to get some stability within the team. It hasn't help with players leaving so early in the season for whatever reasons and then players coming in and trying to click with the current squad. Yesterday should be the catalyst that fires the players up for the rest of the season as I'm pretty sure they don't want to suffer a defeat like that again!

| If JK is guilty of anything it is trusting and showing faith and believe in his players. Some players IMHO need a good shake and kick up the backside. Time for JK to put some boots up peoples s and time to put a few noses out of joint me thinks.
A change is required ASAP to freshen things up and to make all players aware their is competition for places.

| Honestly!
This thread is just ridiculous, John Kear is as safe as McGuire at Wigan, Smith at Warrington, Brown at Hudds etc...
To even contemplate the subject, let alone start a discussion about it, is just poor in the extreme!
John Kear has been great for the club, leaving aside the Million pound survival match, he has brought us a measure of success on a pityfull budget, he's overseen the revamp and medernisation of our backroom proceedures, he's improved our youth policy's and systems and so on..
When JK decides he's had enough of being a coach, I fully expect him to move upstairs where he can continue to steer the football side of the business in the same professional and dignifed manner that has become his trademark.
