There is an expression though - you can't please all of the people all of the time - which sums this up. This guy will not be won over in a month of Sundays. That is not to say we don't listen - or more to the point those who are responsible for the decision do, but our job is clear - to make our case bullet proof going forward and no amount of us 'pampering' to his whims on here is going to change anything I'm afraid.
If he wants to argue against the scheme, as it seems, then I'm sure there will be plenty of advice around as to how to go about it. If he wants to make a difference to the scheme then again he can get advice from the relevant quarters.
This forum is here for the benefit of discussion on Rugby League related matters and not to pander to take much pleasure from the failure of this venture.
Do not be taken in by the 'warm and cozy' posture taken - he is trying to win favour from sympathy from these boards - nothing more!

Don't be sorry - I merely meant to point out the risks.
I don't know the guy - I was 'profiling' based on details available. I genuinely feel though that they are now making the issue that of the industrial elements merely beacuse they feel that is weakest link. If there were no industrial elements, there would be some other element they didn't like - that's how it goes!

| Without going into this too deeply, there is clearly an awful lot of benefits to Wakefield as a whole. The site will be developed now or in the near future due to it's location. Whilst nobody wants to see a development on their back yard, i would suggest those against think carefully before opposing such a development.
The land WILL be developed whether it's by Yorkcourt or another, and sometimes it's better to work as one to ensure all parties are happy. You never know what the next scheme maybe. I'd love to swap my view of the Toxic tip for Yorkcourt's proposal's!

Yes sir you are sir, and so are they, if they are muppets they will hang them selves given enough rope, bit only if they are allowed to speak.
If someone was building in the fields near my house a bloody great mosque, or gay rollerdisco, or even worse the cas' ground, I would want to voice my opinion, however it would soon become clear that I was just being objectionable for the sake of it, one thing you can't halt is progress and because I don't own the fields, I don't really have that much clout, but I would still want to moan!!!

| I've just watched WCCG's video and left the following comment, which is waiting for one of their moderators to clear for publication - it will be interesting to see if it gets on!
=#004080Anyone that pays their road tax is allowed by law to park on the street unless parking is restricted. Having said that, I can see that this video makes the argument very well for locating the new stadium in a non-residential area with good transport links to minimise the disruption, The proposed site is as close to ideal as you could wish for, being on industrial land next to a very busy motorway. My personal preference would have been a City Stadium in Thornes Park, this would have made public transport a very real choice for many fans who will still travel by car to the new site - but at least they won't be blocking anyones drive!!
It would have been interesting to see the views of some of the local businesses in Agbrigg, particularly the corner shops / pubs.

There's another saying "give them enough rope....." to mearly discount peoples views by guessing/profiling makes you look arrogant, or stupid or both.

| It gets worse this forum every day, we cant even agree to "pack down" against the only poster brave /daft enough to post something on here against newmarket.
Sure we have ridiculed him and the video ,but a simple cut and paste job of some of the comments on here could be used against the development, remember WAR IS DIRTY!
fancy a wakefield fans cant agree even on their own forum story?????
basically think before you post on this topic!

| Get a grip man!!
This guy posting, and people agreeing or disagreeing is exactly the purpose of this forum, as has been pointed out on other threads certain people only seem to want a certain type of thread on here lately.
And anyone who thinks it being discussed one way or another on here is going to be detrimental to the development is wildly dellusional.
He's posted, it's being debated, it's what this is all about, end of!!!
Nobody is agreeing with him and his wish for either the ground or development not to progress, just some of his concerns, giving him the opportunity to air it on here is called democracy, although that doesn't always sit well on here.
Come what may we'll get the ground or not based on the plans and people involved, not this forum!!!!

you could have a point here
according to the tenor of the original poster Trinity have been around over a hundred years and therefore would survive ok!!!
that means that frogs, newts and other wild things have been around for thousands of years and will... by the same logic... be fine!!

| Here we go [urlhttp://www.wakefieldccg.co.uk/blog/[/url comment here. What a silly video!! all those people on it will gladly want a new stadium for WTW!!!! and a harsh message to them why move to a house near a rugby stadium if they didnt think all these things would happen??? I'm sure Belle VUE was there before they all moved in... anyway thats a side issue...

| Am I not right in thinking any planning application will be accompanied by an environmental impact/aspect assessment (Town and Country planning Act I think)
This will highlight both the positive and negative impacts to the env/community. It will also highlight the negative impact on the flora/wildlife whilst also offering up suggestions to reduce that impact-Ive worked on jobs where bat bricks are inserted into buildings so the bats can get in and out with bat boxes inside the roof space to allow the bats to fly around, buildings that have plant life growing in/on the brick work, roads(A1M) that have badger runs under them and management arrangements for the newts etc.
Organisations such as Natural England will get involved if the land is particularly "special". Generally solutions can be found to appease all sides-Naturally there will always be people who lose out.

| arhh got it a ground with no stands, roads, club shop, bars-just a pitch that the newts can use Mon-Sat but not Sun 12-5pm
Sound environmentally friendly to me-how could there be any opposition to this proposal.
I suspect Toulouse, Paris, Widnes are all in support of it!!
