I think the sports pages generally give pretty decent coverage of Trinity and the sports around Wakefield. However, their lack of interest on the stadium front since they stirred up the ‘Stadium – No Thanks’ article has been very obvious. Can you imagine if the anti-stadium protesters had a petition with several thousands signatures on it supporting them and the coverage they would get. It certainly wouldn’t be a token effort that appears to have been written up in five minutes.

You should send that in to the letters page.

You've hit the nail on the head. Very 'Daily Mail' style headlines at the moment, over nothing much at all - the animosity over the skatepark etc. is at odds with campaigns over getting kids active, but suits whatever agenda it has that week.

It's not as if it can't be accused of bias from Cas/Fev as they have their own paper to cover their stadium issues, so really, what is the Express' problem with Wakefield (the city, not the club) getting a new stadium.

To be fair to the WE, this isn't a story yet, as in, it hasn't happened yet.
Maybe next weeks edition may be more indepth as there will have been an event to report on, who knows there may even be pictures!!!icon_wink.gif

The excuse for the 5K story not having more coverage then it got was that the news was a week old by the time the Express could print it so, if the piece on the website is anything to go by, I don’t imagine there will be much more in next weeks edition.

How funny was the sex for booze story what a non event. No evidence just someone whinging. As if that happens at most girls will flutter the eyelashes at you to get them alcohol.

Can we have the swoop?

I have stopped buying it. All there seems to be is a constant drip feed of negative articles about our club. Many people on here have said many times that the public of Wakefield seem to have more apathy towards their club than any other place that has a RL team. I think the sustained negativity by Wakey Express may have something to do with this.

Well they will have a fair bit to report after today, so if we don't get good coverage, (1000 x more than the 10 residents who are against it!!) then they have failed to show a balanced view of the event.
So lets organise another petition, to boycott the paper, 10000 off there readership would, I would imagine put them out of business.
