True and that will take time for them anyway - time they don't really have.

| Look at the detailed breakdown, we have some things to do too, but it'll be easier for us to allocate space for directors and press, and add padding to their seats.
I remember Minards said they'd allocated space already but not sure he had these lower level details when he spoke at the shareholders meeting.

| Whilst I am a trin supporter of over 60 years I still hope cas can start to redevelop their ground in some form. Like belle Vue it is still a traditional old ground not like soleless stadiums ie Huddersfield. Plus they are a true rugby league club / community and looking forward they are the clubs the league will need. There is less and less players / amateur clubs so we will need them us for rugby league to survive. Cricket is the same and in a way football. As I see it the more clubs that improve facilities etc the more chance that the sport will survive

| There's been a long discussion on TotalRL Forum about this Plan B idea. Wakey and Fev fans pointing out that the £2m that all 3 WMDC clubs got was for grass roots and community enhancements not comfy chairs for the directors nor better facilities for the media guys. Supposedly to add on to a bigger spend/development not used up as a tarting up stand alone expenditure.

The last paragraph also talking about planning or funding might not happen for three years was an odd thing to announce..

| Yes comfy chairs for directors, it's a wonder IMG didn't stipulate padded bog seats too. So disappointing that our game has come to this and such things could be the one small difference in which division you play

We used the money towards our redevelopment so I guess they could similarly say it is for the community.

I agree. I'm on the 'we all hate Cas' train but it's only in jest. I grew up with mates following Cas and also Featherstone and would like to see all teams succeed.

But the original gift from the MDC was intended specifically for grass roots and community. Most of the areas Cas want to use the cash for are not so.

| At the end of the day it's a wooden stand one of only 2 that exists in Rugby League today the other being Keighley. You can tart it up all you want but it's a wooden structure and this is 2023. All the waffle about upgrading the jungle, £2,000,000 to spend and no mention of upgrading their floodlights which were installed 1966. Wakefield have had 3 sets of lights in that time. They are using sticking plaster in the hope of getting a grade B from IMG, they have left it whilst the last minute i just hope they get found out.

| All Cas usual banter apart. They have been dicked over same us us. OK we got a stand but that's even been downgraded during the build. If both our clubs had been in another local authority there is a good chance we would both have had proper new stadiums long by now. Look what we eventually got after all the various stadium ideas started being promised around 2005 ish. Cas have got a very long hard struggle ahead I suspect.

| Not sure where people are.looking. In the full interview (over 1 hour) with Mark Gratton he is asked if there is a plan B if the planning decision is delayed any longer. He explains what plan B is but doesn't want to use it. The other option was to play for a season at another stadium with York given as an example for a season while the full revamp was in progress as that would be an easier way to meet IMG criteria. Not sure if you are aware but it involves 2 PPs one for the ground and one for the Axiom site. When Axiom site gets approval it releases the money to start the work at the jungle .

The article I saw was from a league express tweet.
It just came across as a bit desperate, but might have been cropped by the journalist.
The last paragraph was a bit of an odd sentence to come out with regarding delays..
Don’t know much about axiom as an outfit but I can’t see them submitting anything until they have companies signed on the dotted line to move into their warehouse’s…
Cant see them submitting plans….handing cas a lump sum telling them to crack on… while they sit on waste land waiting for companies to buy warehouses.
When it suits them though, they won’t be able to submit them fast enough.
The cost will also be a factor as prices are sky high, although I would of thought this will benefit cas also as your stadium will cost less to construct.
Could end up being a long haul but it will happen eventually.

The Environment agency has raised concerns with bot PP's as i understand and 2 of the major customers that were looking to move into the new development next to Jnc 32(Amazon 7 Siemens) have pulled out, so I doubt that one will even get off the ground now, and as one is totally dependant on the other, it looks like neither will happen in the next 24 months, the PP is not being scheduled to be heard again until the November meeting at the earliest. It looks sadly like Cas are in a similar position to what Trinity were with Newmarket and have clearly been dicked around.

I'm not sure where you get all this from mate.
Axiom submitted 5 new documents to PP regarding the Glasshoughton site which addressed the concerns on September 14th. They submitted 1 more document on the 15th September for the Jungle development (flood risk) to hopefully be heard at the PP meeting in November. If passed this releases the money immediately to start the ground improvement. We'll have to see I suppose.

Firstly everything I said is fact, at the time of me typing it I was unaware tha 24 hours prior, axiom sent in documents regarding the EA concerns, however, that still doesn’t remove their concerns until they respond at the next scheduled planning meeting. Secondly, the 2 major companies that had originally committed to the JcT32 site have gone elsewhere, this puts some jeopardy in the development, but I agree it isn’t a 100% dealbreaker. Lastly, the funds get released when “Axiom” release them, the only thing that dictates the timing (as stated in the S106 agreement) is that they cannot start on the jct 32 development until they release the fund, so if they don’t want to start on it for 4 years (which I think but not sure is the statutory length of these stand) then they don’t have to release the monies for 4 years HTH

Nope.
The Eastwoods' submission of of 15th Sept is a begging letter saying "we can't do what they EA say we must do, so please ignore the environmental requirements".
As it stands the Cas development is screwed.
The developer has put in writing that they cannot fund the project at the level required.
You should also be aware that WMDC have made it clear to Cas that they cannot use the £2m in the way that Gratton has suggested in the press last week.

From the WMDC Planning Portal - submission from Eastwood's on behalf of the developer.:
"In order to raise finished floor levels above the maximum flood level should defences fail, approximately 1.5 m of raising would be required. This would result in the development failing to meet accessibility criteria and lead to an increase in flood risk elsewhere.
In addition, raising of finished floor levels would require the creation of new compensatory voids to accommodate the displaced volume of flooding. If this were to be included on the site it would result in the significant de-scoping of the major upgrades provided (such as removal of the training pitch, loss of car parking and removal of the fan zone) thereby undermining the principle of the proposals to provide upgraded stadium and training facilities. Having the fans seated at a higher level would undermine the intimate atmosphere of the historic stadium, one of the features it is famous and valued for.
Raising finished floor levels would also raise construction costs which have been carefully assessed to provide the maximum benefits and to meet the Superleague stadium criteria. Any increase in construction costs would mean that the other upgrades to the facilities would need to be descoped resulting in Wheldon Road failing to meet the required stadium standards. Raising of finished floor levels is therefore deemed unviable."
