Widnes were good value for their win last night and they have some excellent young players.

Mellor and Hanbury caused Salford some real headaches.

As for Salford, I think they will be scrapping it out at the wrong end of the table.

They beat London easily and squeezed past us, with some help from the man in the middle.

It looks like they need Rangi back quickly, as Timmy was found wanting last night, some stray passes and a very average kicking game.

Browns kicking was excellent thougth.

On the downside, Widnes don't look as though they will be anywhere near the relegation slots.

Yes Widnes surprised me. I like how they play.

Bet Koolcash was peeved to see his players laughing and joking with Widnes players at the final hooter.

There wasn't much to choose between the two sides right up until that dubious play-on call from Silverback.

THe Salford squad just isn't deep enough to cover crucial injuries. Howarth, Ashurst and Williams clearly way bellow Super League standard.

Widnes themselves have some poor players but one or two of their team have the pace to create problems for the lower sides.

Oh, and Smith had another stinker.

They don't get how Smith plays yet. Some passes dropped would not have been dropped at Wakefield........ironically.

You are spot on with this, sometimes Smith is one step ahead of even his own team.

he's bloody awful is Smith - worst defender I've seen play SL.

Looks like the predictions of their back up players being not quite good enough may be true.

Disagree on this one. When he signed for us all the Wigan fans said he would be a turstyle in defence. Granted he wasn't brilliant but he wasn't as bad as they all made out and his passing game is the best I have seen from a Wakefield player in Super League.



His kicking game isn't the best but it is ok, i just think it wont work out for him at Salford as he plays his best with a game manager alongside him which he wont get at Salford.



He is not an awful player at all and he is deffo in the top 10 half back currently in Super League possibly the top 5.

I've seen him on TV twice this season and there's hope for me yet if he can play SL. doesn'tt ake the ball to the line, doesn't really do anything. His effort on Windes' try when Joseph offloaded actually made ME blush

He had an off night last night but that happens to every player at some point. I am going off his time at Wakefield where if you look at his tackling stats for the past 2 seasons he missed around 15% of his tackles which isn't bad for a half back.

I never understood the hype around Salford. The core of their team in weak at the proverbial. The hookers are awful, halves terrible and I include Smith in that, nothing to brag about at loose and fullback looks totally inept.



Chase may well win them a few games but he is not the type of player to take a team and drag them out of the mire.



Add to this they seem to have no fight in them apart from Morley who is a shadow of his former self.



This is all before we start on their Coach who still thinks its 2002.



I think they have an outside chance of making the 8, just.
