Straight swap for Broughy anyone?

If true no real loss based on form this year. Not a 6 and defence too weak for a 9 IMHO. Needs to work on his size, strength and tackling technique. Got some Pace, good kicking game and a good step though but fringe SL player still.

I still say Ellis was our natural hooker better than Aiton in every department bar defence

I'm never sure with Wood, is he that bad or is it that we don't let him play well? Would he shine in a good team?

I'd like to see Goulding and Maskill on the bench, see what they can do given the chance, nothing to lose!

Got to agree with this although its recoverable with Andy Ellis just resign him and send Wildie out on loan? Ellis was top yardage man when he was at broncos.

Younger players like Goulding or Maskill must show by their performances that they are playing really well and ready for the step up to Super League otherwise they will get hammered and their development will be severely hampered. I'm not sure they are, are they?

Clearly we have about half dozen 'dead wood' in the squad that needs clearing out.

Don't think any of the three named players of Wood, Wildie or Ellis will be with us next season though, Agar will see it as weakness re-signing a hooker he let go to the championship. Is Tommy Lee getting game time at 9 at Broncos?

If Tommy Lee is the answer, I dread to think what the question is.

If Wood has gone then I hope we are clearing space for a replacement otherwise with Sykes & Smith out we are very short in the halves. Never been Woods biggest fan but at least he is a body and he will need replacing.

If wood gone and Injuries confirmed then Lee Smith 6, Wildie at 7, Washbrook at 9 and put Annakin at 13. Got 5 fit props so play Tautai in second row. Mellars utility off bench? Recall Cowling and start him in centre! Wonder if Agar is losing the belief in him from the team?

It does leave us in a rather risky place, lets see how it pans out.

So let me get this straight, we release Andy Ellis who was a very good hooker to keep Wood instead, only to let Wood go. WTF

He was OOC, we would of probably offered him a contract just that fartown offered him more wonga

But that would be for next season, why would he be 'released' now?

I also don't expect us to give him another contract but I would have thought he would stay to see out his present contract and remain at the club to the end of this season.

If, IF, he has set up a move without consent - it is exactly what I would expect from Agar as a response, consistent with his treatment of others. If you are not fully comitted to the club, you can ply your trade elsewhere.
This is all supposing the story is true.

Its not 100% but from a very good source so I expect it to be true, unfortunately.
