I'm not sure I agree - my mantra with workplace relationships is "friendly, but not friends," because it's exceedingly difficult to have robust, performance related conversations with someone who you've been socialising with; on that basis, I wouldn't generally see it as positive thing if any senior officer was best pals with a subordinate, in any workplace.

| Quote ="Trinity Truth"It’s not a question of like or dislike -
I am desperately worried for our great club - wether you like it or not Mr Carter is playing fantasy Super League with a real club and has been doing so for years.
He absolutely knows he should not be spending hours on the golf course with Chester.
He absolutely knows he should not be going for beers with Chester in down town Perpignan.
[uAnd most of all he know he should not be allowing Ted Richardson and his cronies to take the post match formal dining offered by Catalans.[/u
Are you still all sure that ‘ he is the man ‘ now you know that?'"
I would imagine that lord Ted has known Bernard Squash since 2006 and probably gets on quite well with him, hence the invitation to the banquet, I'm not sure what Mr carter can do about it as it's Catalan's doing the inviting, and as far as I'm aware The Richardson clan as you put it have a box in the flats anyway and Mr Carter is quite happy to take his money, excessive scandal mongering

At such a difficult time for the club, it's critical that MC and Chester are working well together and should there be any disharmony in the team, Chester will desperately need someone who he can talk to and find the best way forward.
They dont have to be best pals but, talking things over away from the workplace is an excellent way for the two of them to make plans for the club.
We all have to hope that they have got a decent plan for survival and beyond.
Where the plan was hatched is of far less importance.

And what if the best plan for the club is that Chester has to go? How much harder is it to enact that, if 48 hours earlier, you've been strolling round the links, or sharing pina coladas on the beach in Portugal?
I don't know how close they are mind - and no one seems to have been talking about it until we hit the doldrums - so I'm talking hypotheticals here; I just firmly believe that it's almost always an error to blur the boundaries between personal and professional life - it never ends well.

| Can't see the problem. Especially as Carter seems like a pretty ruthless employer (I actually mean that in a good way)
I'm sure he'd be sad to let Chester go but IF it was actually needed in certain he'd do it no problem.

| With regards to how bad potentially have a look at list below. This is who I would think we would lose if relegated.
Tom Johnstone
Bill Tupou
Reece Lyme
BJB
Jacob Miller
David Fifita
Kyle Wood
Matty Ashurst
Craig Kopczak
Arona
Batchelor
Jowitt
Jack Croft
Taginoa
Some not on the list are off contract and could be leaving anyway and their could be more that I have not mentioned still under contract that could walk.
It would be a massive task to replace a lot of bodies during off season

Depending on exactly how their relationship works, that may have already been spoken about ?

So by my estimation over a million pounds of talent gone in a heartbeat. All because one man is too stubborn to change what's been staring him in the face all season.

| 1st choice half backs don't function. Persisted with. Three quarters who can't defend persisted with. A blind man can see why we get beaten easily most weeks.

| Without being too much of a pessimist, the end of the season comes ever nearer and there hasn't been any marked improvement in Trinity performances.
Should the dreaded event happen and we go down, what will happen? In my opinion if this happens Mr Carter's contingency plan will be to take his money and go (Who could blame him?). We'll obviously lose the majority of the players in the current squad; a new set of part-time players will have to be recruited; the loss of a major sponsor, finding a new owner ( we found it difficult to draw new investors even when we were on the up); the ground situation will be in total limbo.
It all seems just too horrible to contemplate. Hence in these last few weeks we must have total commitment from the team and supporters.
I know it;s all been said before , but it just helps to get it off your chest

Well let's hope today has been pivotal in sending London down, I didn't think they'd beat Salford, but I didn't expect them to lose by that score.
A bloke coming out of the ground on Friday said that was one of the worst games he'd ever seen! I knew it wasn't pretty, but having watched it again on Trinitv tv, I have to say that the 2nd half was probably the worst half of rugby I've seen in over 30 years of watching! It has to bee seen to be believed. They were terrible and we were worse, i'm am at a loss at how bad we have become with ball in hand, it was actually comical, then it just becomes tragic......

| Bad bad, bad. Loss of Sky Super League money, championship crowds of around 2000 to 2500 average will not pay the bills. A £3 million pound debt and interest charges to service for Belle Vue ( have we actually signed up for the loan yet, I have not heard anything myself)
All in all, would probably be the end of Trinity.

'" we had a settled halfback partnership at the end of last season in miller/rocky and we were playing good stuff, they were starting to gel and admittedly the pair's kicking wasn't great but could of been worked on. It wasn't broken and bringing brough in as just made us look like amateurs, Miller is a shadow of himself, and rocky is up blind alleys at times find them space and play to their strengths, it's no coincidence that we finished 5th and we're 2nd highest points scorers last season.

It's bloody frustrating to see the change but if we reverted back for the last few games it would be like starting all over again. Going to be a costly mistake

I get what your saying with the settled partnership but that’s not the whole story as to why we have faded so badly. It’s down to player attitude and coaching ,brough doesn’t make players grab in the tackle instead of putting the shoulder in ,like he doesn’t make them stand when taking the ball up ,that’s coaching or a lack of it .Coaches have the game plan and the team implements it ,either the coach’s plan is poor or the players aren’t listening,I’d say a bit of both at this moment in time .

| There are so many negatives to us potentially going down. Every cloud has a silver lining though and the only positive I can come up with is that most games will be played on a Sunday, so easier to get to home and away. Very small consolation though as everything else looks very bleak, if we even have a club to follow.
