To be honest Al I dont know, the only viable one i can see at present to retain WTRLFC is a drop to NL1 for a while and a proper rebuild, from the bottom up, but im on a downer with it all anyway.

If the club find themselves out of existence that it would be a good starter home for a new club, although i'm not sure how much Wakefield FC would relish hosting Trinity given the apparent animosity that seemed to exist between the two clubs when they shared Belle Vue.

why should we go bankrupt there anymore than glasshoughton. we will have to pay rent to one landlord or another

Too small I think - according to a quick web search it has a 3,000 capacity and 1,250 seats. I find that hard to believe, plus it would need a lot of work in terms of extra turnstiles, security, just general work on the ground to host anything other than Northern Prem football or 1st Division union as was.

You may have to pay rent but then possibly may Cas. If the council are behind it, it may be that each has a stake in the stadium company and it's a 50:50 split.

Until the full facts come out it's all hypothetical: people say "it's not financially feasible" but I think it can be with the right marketing strategy and if the Wakefield fans get behind the move and embrace it rather than fight it. In fact, the club could be stronger than ever before at GH.

If Wakey cannot afford any addition costs , could we afford to pay the rent at any new stadium ? as we will be tenants and not owners.

I wonder how the vote would change if GH was simply a possible vnue we had found ourselves and Cas were doing something else.

For me the location is not bad and the facilities at Xscape are excellent so I'd be happy with moving there, apart from the fact that we would be sharing.
If Newmarket was a no go-er and if it was a decision of Oakwell or Glasshoughton with Cas staying at Cas....I'd go GH.

Why is Barnsley more agreeable than GH?

For me it has the potential to open up a new market of supporters where as GH already has an SL club on their doorstep. I really can’t imagine any supporters from Cas choosing to support Wakefield over their hometown team.

Existing fans won't no. But you have more chance of taking younger fans from local schools than Cas and therefore persuading some more families to go down. Also, the location is perfect for a walk-up of neutrals too.

There is some potential there - obviously it will require time, cost and effort but there is nothing that is an impossibility.

Indeed, it would take a marketing genius to persuade the locals to come and watch Trinity over Cas, sadly, that person is very unlikely to be ever employed by the club as they would be worth their weight, and then some, in gold.
