I thought we were on the upward curve but now it's back to normality.

We haven't been the same since Brough was injured last year, and really not since Kear left. Our spine is hopeless, in that we need an organising half-back to allow the off-the-cuff players like Rocky and Gigot to do their stuff. We don't have a hooker who leads, and our full backs work like a rota.

A settled, organised spine and a younger pack please. But yeah, I'm in the "goodbye" camp now. And I bet CC is too, actually. Over the last couple of years he has shown his limitations, and you wonder how much of our success was down to JK.

I don't think it's the only way at all. This squad has proved it can compete - not recently it has to be said but IMO there's too many of them, CC trying to please all of them all the time just hasn't worked then adding more instead of introducing the younger players gradually. Also too many square pegs in round holes, chopping and changing of positions. We have had no proper structure to our play for quite some time, nobody seems to know where they are supposed to be playing and what they're doing. It's been a complete and utter shambles for too long. A good coach could easily get at least a competitive team from our huge squad of players I'm sure but it needs structure, a much better fitness regime and everyone fighting for that Trinity badge which got us through in the old days even when we didn't have the best of players.

It's only a couple of weeks since somebody posted on here that sezerwas overrated and it was Gaskell who was the main man at Huddersfield I like Gaskell but only a blind man would not see the influence that sezer has on a teams play

I’m not saying we have got poor players but this bloke is making them look bad, the recruitment is hopeless buying players we don’t need and we buy ageing forwards to add to the ones we have it’s not going to get better soon, il also add to that our ageing pack can’t make ground and can’t make breaks

If Battye is Championship level, we've got a team of Championship 1 players then!
Because he was the only one that looked like he knew what he was doing.
As has been pointed out, that'll soon get coached out of him.

Do you know what he is a championship player but one who gives everything and he probably knows what he’s doing because it’s his job to run hard and run straight. Danny ward probably says now then Eddie just catch it and run that way towards the posts as hard as you can, when you get smacked do it again and when you tackle knock their brains in, quite simple really x

So he was given a specific role at London?
Maybe one or two others at Wakey should be given specific roles?
He looked good as a ball playing forward too, took it to the line a few times, the rest of the player's could learn something from him.

It would be interesting to hold a Chester in / Chester out poll on here and see just what the actual fan feeling is,and may be, just may be, that MC realises just how much and how injurious the current coaching team are to the Club. I recall at one point Mr C was willing to sell the club for a penny. I think if he was making the same offer to day any prospective purchaser would be asking for a ha'penny change.

Genuine question, Mr Carter, What will it take for you to listen to the fans opinions and take necessary action before it's too late and this once great club is no more?

Yes they probably could, desire, commitment, wanting to do well and a willingness to push his body through hell win or lose

I think it is now time for Mr Carter to hand over the club to this Forum as it the only decent thing to do.

I've been "keeping my powder dry" on the 'Chester out' debate, hoping he could turn things around, and although I didn't get to see today's game due to work commitments, it was clearly "same old, same old" yet again, so along with others, I think the time has now come for him to go. He has given it his best shot, but clearly if we continue on this path then the only place we will end up is oblivion, so the board has to act NOW to prevent this from happening.

Not wanted to get involved in the chester in or out has i dont have an opinion on it but what is concerning is today after match press release was the way he spoke he sounds beaten and if the coach is beaten then theres no point in him carrying on

It possibly is the only way new blood can be brought in. Chester has already said the budget as it stands for next season will be what it was 3 seasons ago, so you are talking comfortably into 6 figures there. Also bare in mind that there is prize money for where we finish so if MC even took a conservative prediction i doubt he went for sod all because there is nobody finishing below us thats for sure. If losing 2 top earning players freed up 200K cap plus any transfer fees to invest in four or five good younger players would that be worthwhile? Or do we keep those 2 players, have no room for manoeuvre, and just go again with what we have?

Just a thought...what about Poching taking over as head coach and Chester being his assistant ??
Would save having to pay Chessie off, would keep him employed and would allow Willie to bring some fresh ideas into the club ??

Listening to the interview he is going nowhere, I don’t even think he believes he is doing anything wrong, it is all the players fault. This may be true but their attitude and game plan comes from him.
If we are looking to get rid of Fifita, I think we are doing him a favour. I guess we are going to get to the situation that our best players are no longer wanting to be associated with the club because it’s not exactly good for their careers.
It won’t be long before we return to our days of players wanting out and other clubs circling for their signings.

These players are not bad players they need some guidance, instruction and some support from an hard working knowledgeable coach
