No apologies needed FC, I didn’t intend it to sound like a rant, just that I’m involved in the scouting at 13s, 14s, so I know how hard and frustrating it is to get these young lads to Wakey when Wigan, Warrington scouts are offering them the earth at a young age.

I didn't want to come across as being pedantic.

Ive seen the work done by the youth set up maybe not so much the academy but scolaship. Mark applegarth seems to doing a good job my lad been down over last few weeks in regards scolaship and its clear that the intent is to make sl players rather than best scholaship and academy sides.thnk more praise shuld be given to the whole youth set up from the guys who stand in the rain scouting these kids all the way up to the first team coaching set up

Bit of a battle, was it?

Cracking U16s game tonight at BV, Wakefield 28 Widnes 28, 2 good ball handling sides, Wakefield let a decent lead go but all credit to Widnes who got themselves back into it. Good half back pairing on both sides.

Was a good game thought wakeys 10,6 and 7 stood out while 13 n 8 good for widnes.wakey did throw it away but it not bout results is it.well done to both sides

Great win for the 19's today 16-12 to do the weekend double over shudds super academy team, some great rugby being played by these lads at the moment, well worth the trip down to belle View to watch

After a shaky start they are doing well.

I know it more about creating players rather than winning games but it’s nice all the same.

U19s are doing very well lately

can't see the point of having them as soon as they get in the first team the fans rip them to bits

Do they? I think Croft, Gwaze and Kershaw got 100% support for their recent efforts. Would like to see Kershaw back in and possibly Croft in allowing Lyne or Tupou to push out onto the other wing.

Another good win for the 19's yesterday with 4 regulars missing they beat Bradford 26-14. They have Castleford Thursday night and with still an outside chance of making the play offs it's a crunch game, but results would have to go their way.


They've played some great stuff in the second half of the season and have really grown as a team.

A total contrast to the first team, odd how these things happen.

Another good win for the 19's tonight away at cas winning 30-38, some poor officiating made the game closer than it needed to be with our No6 getting binned for the final 10 minutes for tackling

and our new star winger bagging a pretty special hat trick that Tom Johnstone would be proud of.
