| Big up to Salford they were up for the game, line speed very quick almost too quick, but you play to the referees strengths and weaknesses

| Quote ="4foxsake"The whole team from 1-17 was not good enough last night, they looked lost and lacked leadership. Somebody needed to step up and grab the game by the scruff of the neck but no one did.
That being said, I think Grix has been awful in the last two games, he was outstanding the first half of the season but since being rested for the Salford game he has struggled. I'd drop him and bring back Jowitt.
Williams has not lived up to his reputation, unfortunately we're short in the halves so can't turn to anyone else until Miller is back.
Crowther, I actually think Crowther has regressed, for me he's behind Annakin and Batchelor in the pecking order, not 100% convinced he'll make it, he has potential but he needs to start showing it more in matches.
We're badly missing Arona, Fifita and Miller'"
Grix was the only player who made any breaks against Leeds! I know he threw a wild pass that may have cost us the game against Leeds but we didn't deserve to win that one.
Nobody knows if Jordan Crowther will MAKE it because he isn't being played on a regular basis. In other words he hasn't been given a real chance so I wouldn't write him off at this stage.
Oh for a Gale, Brough or someone of that calibre - if we had one like that we really would be challenging seriously!

| I've no doubt it is difficult for Crowther especially when you consider the amount of back row players we have, but that makes it all the more important for him to take his chances when he gets them, make himself indispensable to the team.
I fully agree we didn't deserve to win against Leeds, and I don't hold the wild pass against him, to be honest I think he thought MCB was outside Arundel. It's his issues with the high ball that appear to have resurfaced and worry me immensely, he was suspect against Leeds, and Dobson gave him a torrid time last night. Jowitt played well against Salford away, I'd bring him back for the next match.

100 percent agree with this post, at the end of the day didn't really expect a win and the late changes - all good bjb and tupou plus kirmond dropping out of squad. Didn't help. Am pretty sure walker was a good two weeks away from playing ideally.
We looked knackered and with the odd exception nobody really performed (thought hubby and MCB tried hard) - ultimately we were out muscled and out enthused - 4 games in 2 weeks has just been too much.
Williams has actually been a disappointment all season and has not had one game where he looks like a top class player, last night behind a beaten pack is understandandable - but what about all the games when our forwards have been on top. Grix has been very good but we were unbelievably bad under the high ball yesterday,
Lets just hope we start to get some bodies back over next couple weeks or it could be a pretty disappointing end to regular season

| Salford did a job on us. They learned from Leeds in my honourable opinion.
We are not as good against a rushing defense.
We couldn't get the ball wider quick enough.
As said the pack tried hard but we're out gunned. Not just in size but enthusiasm for the cause.
Grix tried hard but no opportunities. He's still the one guy that can make the difference.

The first was a blatant reef out by Hauraki which was annoying as the game was settling down a bit and we were starting to build good field position. After the knock on was awarded Salford were 100% in control again.

| Bad day at the office. A week to the next game with hopefully a bit of rest and get some injured players back, certainly over the next couple of games. Everything still to play for.

| My opinion for what it's worth:
Does seem like an odd decision to let Anthony Walker go this week when we knew we had prop issues - why not hold onto him for an extra week? No way on this earth should Adam Walker have been playing - he was clearly not ready to return which is what makes the Anthony Walker decision a bizarre one.
Slating Crowther is just madness - as has already been pointed out there's not much he can do from sitting on the bench.
Grix's inability to even attempt to catch 3 or 4 bombs from Dobson put us under unnecessary pressure.
Losing Tupou in the warm up clearly disrupted us and I'm not sure Gibson was 100% ready to replace him.
Sio is playing crocked and injected up from my understanding and doesn't seem to be able to give 100%
For me, best players on the park for us were Arundel, Huby and Dean Hadley (who I thought worked his socks off and it will be a huge disappointment if he is unable to play next week against his parent club)
All in all, it was as has been said by many, just a game too far on the back of the recent fixture congestion and a mounting injury list. Having said all of that, it could have been much worse, we kept going and how many sets did we defend on our line, and how many goal line dropouts did we conceed. The lads that were out there did well to keep a very good and extremely aggressive Salford side (they're not in second place in the table by accident) to just 30 points.
I'm now hoping that Sunday's Quarter Final is an absolute war and win, lose or draw that Hull have to put a huge amount of effort into it. We have the advantage of 3 extra days rest, not sure that's long enough to get any of the missing players back but we just need to get behind whoever does take to the field and realise that we do need as many of our first choice players available as possible to compete in this league.

This is probably the case. He was a good worker and never let us down but would he have made any difference last night?

Yep pretty much spot on. It is a bit concerning now 2 weeks running we have been weak under the high balls, last week BJB and Grix were almost getting in each others' way, last night Grix & MCB were doing the same. It's a shame for Grix, because he's been outstanding mostly, he's just looked a bit 'out of it' the last 2 games.

| I thought pretty much the whole team looked knackered from minute 1 - and it was apparent we were gonna get towelled within 10.
With the exception of Hadley and perhaps MCB, we looked jaded, patched up and out of sorts. Shame, but I'm less disappointed than I thought I would be - we can concentrate on SL now and hopefully, get back on the horse and finish strong.
And for the OP who appears to want to hang the whole result on Jordan Crowther - shame on you.

| There was an odd moment with Grix at Magic Weekend when he didn't join in with the team photo at the end in front of the support. Hope I'm not reading too much in to that leading to poor form.

| Disappointed for you last night as I always want Yorkshire teams to succeed. I think, however, you were turned over by a good team. Its not the end of your season as there's still lots to play for. Looking forward to your visit to the Kcom and lets hope you have some of your troops back. Good luck for the rest of the season.

| Looks to me like this thread has got the Chinese whispers, the OP in his defence did not blame Crowther for the defeat read his post again, he may not rate him but that is a different issue. I understand Walker is not on loan at Rochdale but has signed for them for the rest of the season, he was released in order to bring in the prop from Saints.
I listened to the game via radio from another continent so was not there but listening we got total dominated as a team and could not respond why not give Salford the plaudits they deserve instead of looking for scapegoats in out TEAM (yes its a team). I know people get emotional but some the comments I have read on social media are uncalled for. The team has been outstanding for the vast majority of games, like anything else that's human bad day at the office or a day on the sick happens live with it!

| Picking out Jordy is a complete and utter joke! Kopczak ran a great line and would have took some stopping from anyone, let alone a young lad who'd barely been on! He ran straight through Fifita for a try last time we played them remember...
Just a poor night...Salford were brilliant from the first minute and we didn't have the answers we did a fortnight ago to their whirlwind start...blaming individual players is poor, especially players like Hirst and Williams who I've seen get stick who've been great lately...
Salford were smart in how they approached the game, probably not bothered about the two points against hull and with the extra rest came in fresh and all guns blazing, while we'd had another tough game that went right to the 80th minute (our 4th in just over two weeks) and came in with disruptions and light on fit and healthy bodies...
There was absolutely no shame in that final score considering...I wish Salford all the best I'd love to see them go all the way!

| Singling out Jordy for last nights performance absurd, especially when the same person has also gave him praise previously.
He missed one tackle last night, but then so did Sio and Finn.
There are some tired and broken bodies out there at the moment.
Players like Jordy and Max should be given a bit more game time over the coming weeks to give themselves that bit more game time and experience. Not only that, it will also give some of those senior players who are broken, time to be refreshed before the 8s.
On top of Jordy and Max, theres also Massive, Moules and Morris who could and maybe should be used at some point

| Why are there fans slagging off the players/team/club that got us to joint 3rd last week with Leeds Rhinos. I suspect for a lot it was there first match of the season!!!! For goodness sake take look at yourselves.....yes it was as a rubbish performance....was it the best team we could put out ? NO . Were there players on the pitch that shouldn't have been?..YES. A bit like last years semi final when we had to field a much weakened, injury hit squad and the fans that moaned the loudest then probably haven't been seen until last night.
Top 8 will do me fine again (yes I wanted to get to Wembley) and a chance to strengthen again for next season in advance and I hope we will continue to do ourselves justice and perform like we have been doing once we get some fit bodies back.

Correct top 8 will do for me and see where we go from there. Start of season my hopes were SL survival & positive stadium news.

| The squad needs some rest, everyone seems a bit smashed up at the moment.
Till we get some bodies back from injury, I don't see that changing much.
I don't see the team changing much either, the last two games have pointed out some of our frailties, whilst we're stuck with the personnel we have and the condition they're in, the opposition are going to target those areas exposed by Leeds and Salford and to a certain extent, games earlier in the season that we didn't necessarily lose.
The Chester job is to try close the holes, that's not gonna be easy and it looks likely there will be a drop in performance.
The team will pull together, everyone will be leaving it all on the pitch I'm sure, but....like I said....we're a bit smashed up, what's more important is the fans give them their support..
