I think the Leeds alternative shirt actually looks like marmite! (Or Vegemite here)

I bought some vegemite from the local cOles here in Nerang last week, it tastes nothing like marmite and I don't like it but love marmite, I had some cousins come to the UK in 1982 from Aus and they said they didn't like marmite but loved vegimite

I've been looking for "Glad Wrap" too as they never shut up about it, not even seen it in the massive Woolworths in Surfers

Having grown up in Australia, all be it forty years ago I can tell you that Marmite is vastly superior to Vegemite though I like both.

Glad wrap made me laugh, if I remember correctly it's just an aussie name for cling film HTH

I made the mistake of assuming vegemite would be the same as marmite after a couple of years of yearning. It tastes like what it is, an emergency war-time substitute for the real thing.
Ironically, Aussies probably don't know what the real thing tastes like as they only get NZ marmite, which is different. I now import my own supply from the UK.

I think that is really nice. Although if you had shown me it without any badges or anything I would have said its a St Helens away shirt. Not sure why, it just looks like a Saints shirt to me.

Seems it was the Clubs idea to make the Wakefield Hospice the main sponsor for the away shirt and give them the chance to get their name out there and TV. Again well done to the Club.

Good, that puts to bed the odd idea that some had that we were taking money off a charity. Great gesture in my opinion and well done club.

Fantastic gesture from the club in donating such a prominent and potentially lucrative space on the front of the shirt...yes it will have cost the club in lost revenue but will have undoubtedly gained us a few more friends in the community



Wouldn't it be nice if our ever-supportive local authority came out and praised the club for such a wonderful gesture for the citizens of Wakefield District....oh hang on a minute....

The article makes reference to "shareholders" of the club. I thought that the shareholders were just MC and CB. So I guess some others must now be on board, who am I forgetting about.

P.S. In the time of Ted I was also a shareholder but those days are now long gone.

Great to see from the club. Wasn't a fan of the shirt until I saw it in the shop today, quickly changed my mind.

while I don’t like the shirt or more specifically the colours, it’s great to see Wakefield Trinity offering Wakefield Hospice the exposure of shirt sponsorship. It would be nice if the Wakefield Express made a decent sized report of it therefore publicising Wakefield Hospices amazing work even further.

Finally managed to get down to the shop yesterday and look at one of the away shirts.....whilst I thought it was okay, it just didn't say "Wakefield Trinity" to me, so I got a home shirt instead


Have to agree with others regarding the other merchandise though, there is some really good stuff in the shop at the moment
