Murphys three tries (one of which was against donny) in 22 appearances this season is testament to his lack of attacking spark. Yes we've been on the back foot for a lot of the season but George, Dean, Morton etc all crossed the line more than him. But he is defensively sound, has always given 100% and has improvement in him. IF the deal is right then i'm happy for him to go. But it has to be a good deal FOR US.

He (Murphy) scored some cracking tries when he played on the wing. Hull KR away springs to mind when he went down the touchline and fended about 3 defenders off.

i like murphy, but he never will become a world beater. i think he will be a great club player where ever he ends up. but even physical freaks like atkins cant do it at international level, seeing him getting piggy backed down field by kenny-dowell was embarrasing.

These players have been feeding off scraps due to the lack of skill from our half backs, Dean and Morton are not good examples to put up against Murphy. Murphy is far better.

If Murphy is to go it should be a cash deal only the money can then be banked and when a player the club wants that cash is there.Lets not forget if they buy Murphy they will have to off load some players we can then go back and say WE are interested in.It also lets the club have the chance to look at players from other clubs who could become surplus due to new coaches coming in or for other reasons.

But yet were better in attack than Murphy despite feeding off the same scraps. Murphy averages a try about every six games over his time with us, including times when we had the Broughs, Jeffries and Osbts of this world creating the chances. I like Murph and rate him. But he never has been top drawer, probably never will be and he is replaceable.

A lot of our outside backs would prob have similar stats over the past couple of seasons. That's where we are at the moment, I think Murphy is a solid player. I'd like to see him stay.
But he's seems to be going the same way as his afro'ed pal

I don't think AM wanted to leave but i do think he may well do now, well you would if you found out you were part a swap deal and realised you had little value at Wakey.

If that be the case I am very dissapointed. Aaron apart from a short spell at leeds as been with us most of his adult career and I consider him one of our club trained players.

This to me does not look like we are holding on to juniors and against everything the club said about not been a selling club.

It would be interesting to know whose decision this is. Was it done pre -Agar or is it fully his call. Either way its a big call to get rid of one of the fans favourite players if he was wanting to stay.

People are saying we should take cash only, but look at this way. He goes nowhere knowing he is a wanted man. He goes through the motions (not advocating he would) and then in September of next year announces he is going to Huddersfield and we get nothing. Alternatively we are given an option to take three players and the added bonus of offloading Tommy Lee in the deal.

It has been suggested we wait until Huddersfield release the players they are offering to us and then we pick them up, supposing somebody else comes along and snaps them up first. If it is correct that a new contract has been offered and it has been rejected then surely something is better than nothing.

Heard a little rumour that we have been talking to Ben Fisher in case Lee leaves. Whether its true or not I don't know.

As with Gledhill there are two separate issues here.

First, was or is Murphy being crapped on. I don't know but nothing and I mean nothing that happens at BV surprises me whether it be old regime or new. If he is being manouvered out then it stinks - however being pragmatic, if we win the CCup with the new lads then it won't stink for long, that is how it goes.

Second, is Murphy worth more than the players being offered. My view which I think is realistic is no, if anything I'd say we are getting a slightly better deal than Hudds. Although we will only know that for certain some time in the future.

Tommy Lee has already been replaced should he leave. Ellis, Davey and Wildie should be enough to cover the hooking role.

As Shudds are so keen on pretty much any Wakey player, why not just swap full squads and perhaps we could let them have some 2012 playing shirts so the players feel "happy".

The other issue is loyalty and its value from the junior up and coming players at this club, if you see players leave in this case AM and AG you will discount the loyalty bit from day one.

The big push to fund young local players and help keep them at the club looks a touch watery and before anyone says it i fully understand you can't keep them all but imo the loss of these two is deeper than two players.

It's not very often i use this word on here but i know for a fact (as do you probably Al) that this certainly runs deeper than just two players. These two decisions will have knock on effects for a while yet.

Any chance of expanding at what these deep running issues are?

Fair enough, although I imagine a large proportion of people on here pay into a scheme primarily to help the club retain its youngsters. If there's something thats going to hinder that then I would've thought its only fair they be told what that issue is.

At a guess I would say its the lack of fans the club has which makes it difficult to compete with bigger, or richer, clubs.
