Agar will go well for you. He has had to do his job at Hull with one hand tied behind his back due to the pevious board. I'm glad he's left Hull, but mainly because he was on a hiding-to-nothing and things had become untenable for him. Had he started his career at Hull under a different board then maybe things would have worked out slightly different. I genuinely hope he succeeds with you.

For what it's worth here is my view on the RA situation.
If as is being touted RA is our next coach, then although having an initial feeling of being underwhelmed by the appointment, it is not a reason to become totally disillusioned as some seem to be by his appointment.
Let's look at it in another light. RA in a lot of ways has been the old Hull boards patsy for their own importance these past few years. Kath Hetherington and the board would have been pulling the strings and hiring and firing, it was plain for all to see. I would even think the Hull contingent that frequent this board would agree.
So with the arrival of Adam Pearson came the end of RA's career at Hull. I was a guest in the hostility

at the Hull/Leeds Challenge Cup game and having just that day taken control of Hull FC Adam Pearson made his opening speech and at the end of the game and the look on his face you knew that RA's time was at an end.
Quite funny since that day and with the release of the controlling pressure of the old board and the axe from AP that Hull have become one of the better teams in the comp and are looking a tight fluent unit.
Funny how things change isn't it.
Also if as stated RA is good mates with JE well what's the problem.It's a positive, this friendship can only be a good thing in communication's between CE and Coach. Trust!
So maybe he will follow in his fathers footsteps and become coach at Wakey, I for one will look to the future and not his past!

Let's just get behind him. I've got a feeling he's got a lot to prove now unlike some candidates, Hull seem to be gaining momentum on the field and as a club we are moving forward too. From the off Hull fans were determined he'd never succeed, I think that filtered down to the staff and I don't want that to happen here.

Disaster....now nearly losing your club earlier in the year was a disaster.....
Employing a coach who has gained a invaluable experience clearing out deadwood, bringing through some exciting players Briscoe, Houghton, attracting top international Australians, setting good standards, and ethics and being highly respected by his players...that is not a disaster that is a positive plan towards ensuring your club survives and succeeds in SL!

Think we need to lay off Agar if so and BACK HIM! let him be judged on his tenure here.

I think we as wakey fans are just not happy without something to moan about. Let's just back the man. He has had an invaluable learning process at hull and he should get that clean slate.

Richard Agar wouldn't have been my first choice, but then again I don't suppose Wayne Bennet would have come for what we could offer him.
Richard gets a clean slate from me and I'll get behind him and the team. Whoever has been coach over the years has never stopped me from watching (eg. Len Casey,

Let's get the official announcement made and move on to preparing for a good season next year.

I'm ready to back him because without our support the players and whoever the coach is will never succeed as well as they would WITH our support. Remember Hull (particularly at Boothferry) was always an "intimidating" fixture and I'm sure it affected players of both sides, and probably the ref.

So let's get behind whoever it is ........ JUST LET US KNOW WHO IT IS!!!

As I've posted before will support AR if he is the choice. Article in today's Hull Daily Mail says Wakey approached Agar several weeks ago. If this is the case and they knew who they wanted why go through the rigmarole of interviewing several coaches if they knew who they wanted?

Fact... Poor season on field.

Fact.... Negative press aplenty.

We could have aimed for top coaches but it's unrealistic to expect them to come at the early stage of the clubs plan to become a professional outfit.

Agar will be affordable, and dare I say one of the best candidates on the list of who applied. We want a coach who wants to come to Wakefield.

Agar has alot to prove and although not quite achieved expectations at hull he has been ok, 2 x playoffs in last 2 seasons is nothing to be sniffed at. The hull fans want top 4...we want playoffs or there abouts.

Agar is a model charachter, and appears to instill a work ethic and professionalism in his playing staff. This is what we are trying to achieve and agar may be the best we can get for the money and what he offers.

We are just not in the Market for a micheal maguire or a Peter gentle but we could be in 2 years. that's why with the ST offer us fans need to take up the SUPER offer and back our club as best we can.

Let's give the guy a shot. New club, new staff, new surroundings.

The main priority in the successful candidate in my opinion should be developing youngsters and being able to bridge the gap/divide between academy to first team. People talk about attracting top quality imports, however, I think clubs with bigger reputations and salary caps will struggle given the rise in salaries in the NRL.

I won't pretend Agar was my 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th choice of coach but that said he'll get my full backing if he is announced. I interviewed him as a young coach just starting out and i remember coming away rather impressed with his knowledge and understanding of the game. So, I say give the guy a chance.

If true, he's mate's with Elston then JE is taking a big risk employing him.

If it is Agar to be announced then he will get my full backing and he starts with a clean slate.

Here here, Agar will know and appreciate the challenge, he won't just sit there after a few defeats thinking is this my lot, what's the next commentary date? he'll knuckle down. I kinda wanted a low profile coach like JD, Poching or even March as they wouldn't think they were bigger than the club like Noble, Goulding, Millward or Gentle would have. Perhaps Agar, who could attract bigger names than my preferences, is a perfect happy medium?

I can't agree on that point; a cosy group of mates at the top level of any organisation is most definitely a BAD thing. That group needs to challenge and disagree with each other, and be able to constructively criticise the things that the others are doing. Very difficult and uncomfortable things to do with the bloke who'll be at your barby on Sat night.

If JE has been banging the drum for Agar since the process started, he's taking a big risk.

I've done this many times with mates and we're still mates today. It really doesn't bother me if Richard and James are friends, they should both be professional enough to realise that whilst at work they are colleagues and may well have conflicting ideas. Give the man a chance and judge him this time in twelve months. Clean slate and a new start next season for the club, the coach and the squad. In reality next season is like our first season in super league all over again, at this moment in time we have a sub standard squad in terms of super league ability, the club are actively looking to improve this for next season.

That's your new coach's fault. I hope you enjoy him. 3 year deal I'm hearing. He's bringing some deadwood players with him too
