| He would get my support, with a decent assistant. From the club's point of view, he would probably be half the price too when compared to some of the other names mentioned. It has to be remembered that Gentle is no more proven as a head coach than Cummins.
The only thing that would worry me is that he does not come across as a person with much of a physical presence. Shouters and bawlers are good for a few games but momentum burns out eventually, and I have never seen Wayne Bennett scream and shout. But then again, maybe he did in his younger days. Cummins always comes across as a pretty quiet and measured sort of bloke, and so I have that nagging doubt that for all his rugby expertise, he might not command a team very well.
Having said that, I hope as fans, whoever the coach is, he is given 18 months at least before people think about getting on his back. If it's someone new to a head coach role, we have got to accept that the first year might not be great.
Mind you, I'll give Goulding two games before I'm calling for his exit, those being the Boxing Day fixture at Leeds and the friendly at Fev.

| I have played under Cummins and he is the real deal. He is a fantastic coach and deserves a chance. He is very highly respected by most of the players who have played with or under him. The ones who have bad things to say are the players with big egos who think they are some kind of superstars as he soon puts them in their place.
I hope he gets the job as do a lot of the current squad who know him.

| I'll be happy with Cummins, local lad from dewsbury, however how we go will depend on the rest of the coaching staff as well, add to that good player recruitment and we could have a really bright future and all that with an English coach.

| I would be happy with Cummins too. However, there seems to be too much noise about Agar and that coupled with the man who will probably have greatest say in the appointment being his mate leads me to the horrible conclusion it will be him.
Hull fans are convinced he won't be there next year.
Our stadium announcer is bigging him up on twitter (I like Phil but someone needs to tell him that getting Hull above us in the league (given the respective squads) - does not make Agar a "very very good coach" and also remind him of the fact that Hull are one of the few teams we have beaten this year !!!
If it does turn out to be Agar, I believe we will have made a mistake that will affect the outlook on next season and sales of season tickets among the non-hard core fan base

If its Agar then the club is going to end up giving an awful lot of £100 refunds as theres no way we'll hit 2500 season ticket sales and a lot that have already taken the offer will want there money back. Cummins with a good backroom team around him and we may just sneak it.

ive no idea how hes come to that conclusion. A club with the spending power of hull should not be finishing 8th ( possibly lower ), bought crap and i cant honestly think of that many young lads hes brought through

| It depends who AG listenes to then. JE wants Agar. Everyone else on the planet, with any affection for Trinity, doesn't!
Bit late to get some banners organised for Headingley tonight.
I think fan power got us John Kear instead of Ted's fancied James Lowes. Maybe we can similarly convince AG with this latest appointment. To be fair to Lowes we had no idea at the time wether or not he would make a decent Head Coach. With Agar it's pretty obvious he hasn't nor probably ever will.

Correct season tickets will be 175 next year if its Agar, with Cummins the target is within reach although it won't be easy.
Lets hope the fans wishes/views are listened to, together we are stronger eh.

Yet another urban myth about little old Ted.
James Lowes was lined up by Steve Ferres, Ted over ruled him and wanted John Kear.

Correct. I was with Ferres at the time and wanted Lowes, just shows what fans know - though you'd think some were experts (they certainly do) the way they post on here.

Topped 1000 sales up to press. The correct coaching appointment now is vital and the sooner it happens the better.

| Have to agree that we are never going to sell 2500 season tickets if Agar gets appointed.
Maybe that is why there is such a delay. Keep delaying it till the end of September hoping we reach the 2500 mark and then announce Agar. Can't see this working myself as too many people now are waiting on the announcement before getting theirs.
The right announcement in the next few days could see a big take up prior to the final game of the season, after that footfall at the club drops off completely and there is less chance to push the sales.
Come on AG, do the right thing, announce someone other than Agar by Monday and see what happens with ticket sales!!

Not only that but we only have half a squad !
How do they expect people to buy a ticket for anything if they don't know what they are going to finish up with.
so forget 'together we are stronger'
How about 'Ticket sales wither, while AG and Jimmy dither'

Thats great news but like you said earlier if we get the wrong coach tickets will be 175 and some fans will get a refund and vote with the old feet.

| I would be happy with Cummins and maybe Matt Adamson as his assistant??
As much as everyone wants a previous "hero" JD, Willie, Wright etc involved somewhere, id much rather just have the right people. Someone who doesnt have a link with the club may not be such a bad thing although it may help get the ST sales up!
Whoever it is, needs to make sure they get a top class conditioner in asap as that is something we have been lacking for a good few years!
Basically, i would be happy with pretty much anyone except Agar (im not even taking into consideration the Goulding/Schoey rumours!)
To throw another name in the mix, someone (who may be talking nonsense) mentioned Matthew Elliott to me last week as someone who was interested??

Assistant at Roosters according to Wiki, so may be tempted at a HC role over here. Now that would be a decent signing!!
