Can't see that been right at all - administration, stadium, fan-base - does any of these minus points for you lot matter in the scoring exercise ?
Any proof on this ? Any link ?

Yes, it was on the RFL website.
It said we were the best and Cas only stayed in SL due to Crusaders dropping out.
Didnt you see it?

you see this is the thing. i was talking to a cas fan at wembley who i have known for years. he's travelled all around the world working on major projects at a level of seniority that i could only dream of reaching, he's earned millions in the oil and gas industry in the developing world, but he simply will not listen to any counter point of view regarding cas's new ground that has any negativity in it at all. he's a clever rational man, and all he would say is that cas have a new ground nailed on and that wakefield are stuffed.
big blind spot.

There are no links to the submissions or assessments of any club's franchise application, as you're well aware.
However, if you believe that the RFL would bend any rules to favour keeping WTW in SL, then you're deluded.
I'd be concentrating on matters closer to home if I were you; yet another delay in your planning application, the Opus chairman having to dig Tricky out of a PR hole and the revelation that there are other sites in Cas competing with WR for the development. Not looking great is it?

Oh really. I'm interested to know the reasons why your mate, thinks Cas' is a goer and Wakey's isn't, must have said or did you ask because I'd want to know.

| I think it needs pointing out that it's in James Elston's best interests to get the appointment right too. If it is Agar, and I'm not sure it will be, I can't see him just giving him the job because they are mates. We all want the right man because Wakefield are our team, but Elston's job is on the line if he chooses the wrong guy. I reckon he has quite a lot to lose if this goes wrong, who ever he appoints.

Diane gave the job to about eight different people and her job was never on the line. I doubt it that the Golden Boy's will be too.

Just generally, Im not his biggest fan. And dont know how he was playing at Dewsbury as a hooker on a Sunday and by the Wednesday he's Chief Exec at Wakey.

That's a really good point.
People are making an assumption that AG is naive and is being hoodwinked by JE into taking his mate on in a big job; let's not forget that AG is a successful businessman, operating at a level far above JE and in a very cut-throat environment. He's hardly likely to be taken in by him to such an extent that he'd risk his new acquisition.
In short, it's safe to assume that if Agar does join us, it's because AG believes he's the right man for the job.

There must be a reason though, obviously not the one i posted lol but he seems a nice enough bloke and to be fair to him he has done a decent enough job so far. Also you've got to remember it was Elston who persuaded AG that we were a business worth investing in, in short without James Elston there may not have been a Wakefield Trinity all together, it wasn't just a matter of Glover coming in to buy the club he held numerous meetings with JE starting with one about what happens to his sponsorship now the company is in administration. For Elston to turn that particular meeting into a discussion about what we as a club can offer with AG at the helm he surely has to be praised.

Time will tell; since AG pulled the SL rabbit out of the hat, my own view is that he's earned the right to receive the benefit of the doubt.
Mr Agar certainly wasn't my choice, but if he is appointed, I'll back him until I have a reason not to.

In your (and many others it would seem) opinion. For me give the bloke he chance if he does get the gig. If Agar gets us playing entertaining rugby, decent cup runs and a bash at the play offs in a hypothetical three year contract would you still be saying it was a bad decision?

I just put Agar head to head with Kear in a game of top trumps and just dont see where he actually beats him in any managerial areas. You know when you play Top Trumps and you know that certain player cant be beat on that certain area... Agar just doesnt have that oomph about him.
Im well impressed with the way the club have gone out and bought the right players, I just think we may have taken a backward step if the Agar appointment is true in the management decision. And obviously the rumours of him holding hands and skipping down Doncaster Road with Elston doesnt help that thought either !

| I'm still not 100% convinced Agar will be Head Coach. I wouldn't be shocked to see him as Director of Rugby (not sure what they do though, and wasn't he offered that role at Hull?) or as assistant to a more experienced coach to be groomed for the top job.

If we wanted a Director Of Rugby role then Kear would have fitted the bill perfectly. (Shorter hours, less of a hands on role etc..). I dont think we need one as Elstons playing days will probably mean he covers that role in his CE role in the same way Ferres had a big say on certain things when he was in the CE role too.

Key word in there is think. Basically its all down to opinions and we all differ with them and rightly so. FWIW Agar wouldn;t be my prefered choice and if he does get the job I honestly don't believe it is because he played at Dewsbury with Elston and they are best buddies, I believe it will be for the right reasons. From what we've read on here (may or may not be true) Agar wasn't our first choice so maybe if he is appointed then he's the best of the rest. All I say is give whoever gets the job a chance to prove themselves, in 12 months time judge him, don't judge him now on his performance at another club under differnet management and structrures.

Agreed. Unless AG wants Elston to concentrate solely on the business side of things then I believe a DOR would be a waste of vital resources
