| this club owes john kear a massive debt of gratitude. i'd like him to stay at the club, maybe not in the coaching role, but to lose him would be a big blow.
to get the number of points we have (to date) this year is way in excess of my expectations at season kick off.

Can't we for once step outside of the box and find the next superstar Coach of the future instead of going for past it old hacks who have never had an original idea in their lives. If you think Kear is dull be prepared to be comotosed.

Kear has enough on his plate with Hickey to be welcoming old forwards back. Though the prospect of bringing Leaeno back to the mix really wets my appetite. If Kear does stay I wonder what he'll bring to the table.

Spot on. If Kear is to move on, and I think it's coming to that time, then I like the idea of bringing an Aussie over with a British number two. I think we need a clean sweep of the coaching set up with massive importance placed on getting a top notch conditioner in.
If Kear does go I hope he is shown the level of respect that he deserves for the massive contribution he has made to this club.

| At this stage of the season the players dont need flogging in training (even after poor results) Its clear some are on last legs by game time. This is def a management flaw, know when to train em hard.

Given that JK has applied for several jobs in recent months, it seems clear that he feels the same way; I just hope it's done positively and with no detriment to either party.
You can apologise when you feel ready.
'"
If you are right and Kear wants to go, and there are better options out there, then I don't disagree. I just don't think it is quite the logical step that you think it is.
Even so, adding new information to clarify your opinion isn't worthy of an apology. It's now a different discussion which I may agree or disagree to.
However, as I am still in my happy place after the announcement I am happy to apologise for any distress caused in my post....from the heart of my bottom....sorry, I mean bottom of my heart

Never understand why when a coach leaves a club they automatically go for an unknown aussie.
People are always talking about bringing British coaches through and now is the ideal time for us to keep to our policy of British players with a sprinkling of experienced Aussies and find a British coach.
Although Nobby is no spring chicken he has a wealth of experience and could groom a coach for the future, maybe somebody like Cummins(Francis)who is nowhere near ready but could be in afew years.
Also I think Nobby would possibly be able to attract players that would not normally look at us twice.

Name me a young British Coach who you feel has the drive and creativity to take us forward and I'll go for it.
As for Noble, if Kear has had his day so has Noble.
Sad thing is the National Leagues are not creating the kind of coaches who are knocking on the door in the same way as the NRL's lower leagues do.

Noble doesn't play 5 drives and a kick style of rugby and the wingers do score tries.
We need to look maybe 2 years in the future to look at how a young coach would go but as I said maybe Francis Cummins,Jimmy Lowes,Nigel Wright and although not young Daryl Powell probably still has alot to prove at SL level.

Nigel Wright is an interesting one - why - because he learnt his coaching in the NRL.
As for Noble he wasn't much more creative than Kear but had a team Kear would have given his right arm for. That said there was nothing wrong with Kears style of play until recently when he could depend on players like Danny Brough.

| Never thought about the NRL side of it but have no problem where he learnt a bit of coaching the problem is like with alot of aussie players the 2nd rate coaches are only coming for a pay day and as a way of getting a job back home cos no aussie club will take a chance on them.
I will back any coach we get as he will be our coach but would prefer to try and go British if possible.

I mentioned it because he is British but has an insight into the NRL which is the premier league by some way. That broadens his outlook IMO and puts him head and shoulders above any other potential British coach other than he has not coached a lower league side.

Hmm - Michael Maguire, Nathan Brown, Brian Potter, Trent Robinson - 2nd rate?
I'd love to agree with you on the British front, but you tell me where the up and coming young British coaches are all hiding?
It has to be an Aussie assistant from an NRL set-up, mentoring a British coach to take over in a few years time. That's the only way to get the NRL methods, technique and attitude into our club.
