Considering that many view Mr Kear as a master RL tactician, and that he's reported to be one of the most qualified coaches in SL, I am constantly perplexed by our absolute failure to use dummy runners - it's a very basic tactic that my 11 year old is able to grasp and execute with little difficulty.

| Quote ="quinny"Vastman reference your opinions above" you dont think he had any intention of playing moore this season" ???
Lets be realistic...they tried signing him previously and not to play in the 20's. From the players perspective would he leave a club going well in championship, top points and try scorer to go back to reserve rugby when he had served his time at Leeds academy and left due to that scenario. although its only scotland he is still an 'International' so would he really leave to go back and play 20's (Which he is actually too old for in reality)I think your assumptions on that subject are complete and utter tosh to be honest. next to be nowhere near ready again lets look at the facts, he has played and apparently dominated the championship in a mid to bottom table team as they have been for a season and a bit,as well as taking them to the NR Cup win. Please note this is a much higher level than Under 20's where many have been promoted into the first team so in reality he has far more experience than the likes of Wildie and Annekin for example. Again Vastman your comments are totally innaccurate.
You talk about BJ but if you actually spoke to coaching staff and get their opinions on BJ it was all the same....no consistency, selective in what games he performed in and generally better performances against weaker opposition.
If you have ever played at any kind of level you would not come close to understanding the speed, fitness and intensity required for Super League, so these young kids will all need time to adapt and to grow into more experienced players to succeed at this level, and rather than slate them you should maybe back them and understand they will not become world beaters over night. It is far easier to draft young inexperienced kids into a top of the table team like wigan than a makeshift wakey side.'"
You clearly consider yourself an expert, sadly I think you are not and consider your comments in this case poor.
I also think you didn't read my post properly, which comes as no surprise.

| Quote ="gowerthegroap"Funnily enough no. Read it again.
What I said is:
Kear sent the players out with basic tactics even when we had flair players in the team. He uses the same tactic with or without creative players and has done for years, ask the Hull and Wigan fans. One out rugby is a tactic he has adopted throughout his time at BV, before his time at BV, and at no stage has he used it as a substitute for creativity, it's always been a feature of our play.
I'm not knocking Kear, it's dull to watch, but suits our team down to the ground right now and is the best form of grinding out a result as has been proven this season. I did object to it when we had a more attacking side, but to say his hands are tied with the current crop is an understatement. Hat's off to the bloke for sticking around, I fear we may have been a lot worse off without him.'"

Thats the problem you don't actually debate you just make comments without explaining why you disagree with someones view. You might not agree with what I say, but at least I try and explain the reasoning behind my opinions.

to put Moore in the same bracket as Rooney is a joke yes Rooney was not a great defender but he a least tried to defend where you will find Gareth is just hopeless what i will say is that he does have a good kicking game its a masive step up but good luck to him hope it goes well for him

I will say this AGAIN' This =#FF0000bleep has got a personal issue with Gaz Moore, He's brother in law could not get in the Batley team because of Gareth's form hence the personal attacks on here against Gaz !! This =#FF0000bleep also coaches young players at a superleague club' so you think he would not be on this site slagging young English players trying to step up to superleague ? I wonder if he's employer's would be interested to see some of he's post's slagging other team's young player's.... Give it a rest =#FF0000You've been told once about using his name'

Well all I can say is I will not bag any player until they have had a good few games in the first team, Gaz Moore as a chance ao shine, and I hope he will, just to make you eat your words, this sound more like sour grapes, lets see the lad play, but I for one hopes he comes good....

| See - didn't I say the other day that Moore brings the nutters out of the woodwork; he's obviously a Marmite kind of player who provokes a reaction one way or the other.
Fingers crossed for tonight - I hope he has a stormer.

Not that it's saying much but his defence was certainly no worse (and probably better) than a few other players tonight. I thought he looked quite lively when given the ball just that we didn't do that very much.

Might as well have not been on the pitch he was barely given a chance. The few kicks he did weren't great but were slightly better than Lee's who kicked for most of the night. Not sure why he bothered playing Moore if he wasn't going to let him get involved. Didn't think his tackling was that bad but all the tries came down the opposite side so wasn't tested that much.

I agree. That is his strongest part of his game so why not let him play to his strengths.

| I would like to see us playing more expansively. The tactics of trying to graft yards down the middle and solid play is not suiting the team we have IMO.
Korki is well off form for me and has been for a big part of this year.
We have young legs and fast backs and we need to play to this more often and test teams outsides as they often do to us.
Kicking should be left to one person mainly and not alternating all game between hkrs and halfbacks.
My major concern and it has been for some time is we seem to lack the conditioning. It appears other teams concentrate more on strength and muscle mass than we do. It seems we welcome a more fitness based approach which is fine but look at say Huddersfield, wire players they all look more well built.
Im all for kear and still am but I think some changes need to be made.

I agree with what you are saying apart from where you say kicking should be left to 1 person. I disagree with this because this makes a team become predictable. I think although the person who has the best kicking game should do the majority of the kicking but others should also get involved.
By the way whilst talking about kicking it was good to see Moore kick a goal from the touchline.

| Yeah majority of kicking should be done by one person, sometimes this will not be possible due to pressure and it may be worth another player trying a kick a few times but at present we are splitting duties 3 ways and it's not working. Even the players who chase down look confused as to who or what kick will come next.
My major concern is conditioning, we are getting dominated man for man and something needs addressing there.
