| Quote ="imwakefieldtillidie"I think when you're a parent it's quite easy to be blinkered when it comes to your own child's team. Whilst it may be amusing to ridicule other clubs and coaches, I think you need to remember that it's an amateur sport and the coach in question gives up a lot of his own time to coach these kids, as well as being a parent himself. I know for a fact he will do anything to look after those players, and I don't think you can ask for anymore than that, regardless of whether you're Crigg, Eastmoor or anyone else. I think anyone who gives up their own time deserves a little bit more respect than bashing on a public forum, especially when you've given as much to the game as him and his family.
As you said, they're also struggling to get a full side together each week. Trust me, it's not much fun when, as a 9/10/11 year old, you turn up on a match day not really knowing whether you'll have enough players to actually start the game. And then you get comments like "in fact just coming home with nothing stolen is a bonus". If someone comes on here and is thinking of taking their kids to a local club, they would not take them to Eastmoor when they read things like that. And then you wonder why they turn up with 12 players. It's a shame, as Eastmoor is a cracking club. I know how frustrating junior rugby can get, but I think people need to remember that it is just that, junior rugby.'"
I agree there is nothing wrong with Eastmoor and when my lad played there short of a full side we still had some good times. its when you get to under 12s upwards do you have to have a full squad.
there are coaches that take it a bit further than coaching and end up upsetting parents trying to become that league coach through the children, one that I know of has already lost one player to us and a few others going as well.
having limited player movements is there also to stabilise clubs as kids could just pick up sticks and all move to another club.
that happen in our year with stanningley who now come under another name but can't play in the Yorkshire juniors as the have been banned for doing it, only a couple of good sides in that league

yes i must agree and not once does any credit ever get given to the opposition on the reports.
some coaches need to step back and remember that to be a fine winner you must take defeat on the chin . i would rather my lad be a good loser than a bad winner.
never once as 1 report pointed out the opposition quality and always as to have to have a dig "stanley just used big guys" "they had more subs" "the ref was poor" ....like some one said they are kids .
anyway its big boys next year , im sure eastmoor will be in the mix some fine prospects

I think all the sqaud signed for halifax initially, there was a connection with one of the parents I beleive, out of that side (from memory) only Chester really "made it" with Hobson, Molyneux and a couple of odd others scratching out a career mainly in the lower division.

Molyneux was the year below, and I thought he started out at Sheffield, although I may be wrong. The scrum half (Robinson I think) also did okay in the lower leagues. Jon Wells didn't do too bad either.

according to what i have learnt..and i may be wrong..but if they have registered with another club they will need a transfer and these won't go through until the yorkshire junior league receive the money for registration.

Yeah, he joined them quite late and was part of the reason the rules were introduced to stop one side poaching all the top players. I remember thinking at the time that Wells had no chance of making it as a pro compared to some of the others, it shows what I know!
Chris Molyneux was the year below Chester and Wells, and his brother Jonny is 2 years younger than Chris. Again I might be wrong here, but I think Jonny might have played a few games for our acadamy side.

if they have played for another club yes they will need to transfer,
each team can have three signings from other clubs I think but if they have come from a club that has disbanded then they should be a free player same as if they had not played for any other club

sounds like u13s team I know who only try to recruit the best players and tells others that they don't make the grade to make way for them.
bring on the new season

| your spot on , why this sport constantly puts up stumbling blocks is beyond me from under 7s to red hall the administration is flawed and is corruption to the core . im all for the stopping of super team building as it does no good for anyone really but surly every transfer could be judged on its own merits . if my lad was unable to move this mid term then it was very likely he would of gone to sandal RUFC and then his little bro would probably want to follow . that would be 2 gone , so the question is how many players have been lost?
one easy way out of this would be for clubs to stop! trying to block transfers as its all swings and roundabouts . its always not fair when you want a player and yet lots of clubs still try to block players leaving and this is all age groups throughout both the Yorkshire set ups and id wager its universal .
Kids just want to play , surly saying no is breaching their human rights?

| i think its sensible to have a transfer system in place otherwise things would just get silly but i agree totally that the system should be made easier for a player to move clubs if they wish to.
i think the onething that is sometimes forgotten is that these people "fixture secretarys" are all volunteers and it can be very time consuming and whilst it might seem like a long drawn out job the fact is that most transfers are done within 2 weeks.
players will come and go thats a fact and it will never stop and for me its all about finding the right club and team for a child at a level they can play and compete at whilst still been able to enjoy the game, has a coach the onething that really annoys me is that when a parent leaves the child languishing in a team and level they cannot compete in when a team down the road at an easier level cannot get enough players to field a team yet they will leave their child struggling,im not too sure what the answer to that is other than trying to reason with the parent and child that they will enjoy the game far more if they can compete,i know not all will agree with what i say but rugby league is a cruel sport where the weaker children can suffer.
tamagrace hope your son gets sorted out soon stanley could certainly do with some new players to bolster whats a decent side already unfortunatley it has come too late for us sowe could have played our fixture tommorow.

3rd including friendly , i bet your spying in the morning but on who? maybe lock lane, be a good game at stanningley as well .
shame for stanley and with games getting canceled they may be at higher risk of losing more players befor the 12s . gutted for the kids . the thing is they have to many players that are to good to play in a lower divison and not enough squad players at the moment to probably warrant division 1 next year.
i feel like the king rat being the first to go especially as my youngest still plays at stanley but logistically its the best for us and and the nipper is now playing with lads who live round the corner seeing as we moved to the parish (durkar) . they have lost decent players but the others are not to be taken lightly .
hopefully a influx of year 7 kids will join although they have competition from eastmoor who are struggling to get a large squad and oulton who seem to have over subscribed again . one thing i know is that crigg couldn't get 10 players together this time last year and now they have 6/7 on the subs bench . a year is a very long time as im sure you know

| I honestly can't see why you're having a problem - it's quite clearly written in the handbook that under 11's can transfer as many players as they want , the 3 player rule doesn't kick in until next year ( or the February deadline ) .
