| It would still only have been either a penalty further back or the Wigan guy racing against 4 players in a better position than him so wouldn't have scored in my opinion.

| It's the gobbing off to/crowding round refs I don't like.
It's getting more like continental soccer every year. IMO you should only speak to the ref when he's asked to speak to you. Let them/ their team make up their own minds, without the pressure of players appealing to influence their decisions.

Thought Senior went down easily earlier but could be mistaken.
The chatting back needs to be stamped out. Don't pussy out like soccer, they show dissent, they are penalised until they learn…

| If Maguire is injured, I'd be interested to see how Leeds play in their next game. Leeds would be a very ordinary team without him.

| Better team won Wigan were poor. Tomlinson won the penalties although the second especially was stone cold penalty.
Even if Maguire had not done it there was still a long way to go prior to that becoming a try. I hope he is ok personally he is in good form and will be an asset to us in the 4 Nations.
Plays like that win games, if they go your way winners are grinners.
I doubt Wigan will play as poorly again in the playoffs, if they do they will lose by more, I am not sure Leeds have much more to give.

| Danny McGuire's been in great form during the second half of the season and his absence would blunt Leeds as an attacking force. He definitely injured himself whilst fouling Carmont but I really hope he's fit and healthy for the next round.
I dislike Leeds as much as anyone but would never wish injury on a player.
I'd be interested to know where McClennon got his information from prior to his interview as his accusation that McGuire was fouled off the ball and after the interference on Carmont is a serious one to make especially on live TV

| I don't understand the outpouring of concern for McGuire; he's a sneaky, niggly player who injured himself whilst carrying out a blatant professional foul - tough tits in my view. Shame on him, and on Lautiti for his sportsmanlike gesture in shaking the posts before Richards' kick.
Typical Whino's victory; dirty dirty Leeds.

You are an utter disgrace! I think even hardened Trin fans wouldnt wish a serious injury on the player.
I cannot understand why you'd think posting something like this is acceptable! As much as I dislike certain players and how they might play the game wishing them a serious injury is pathetic!
You are probably the kind of tool who would be cheering Mcguire on if he isnt badly injured and gets a shirt in the tri nations!! Words cant describe the contempt most honest fans would have for a =#BF0040Edited TRB - deserved or not! like you

| I would hazard a guess that McGuire was not injured and that he stayed down to keep out of the way and fear that he could be sent off for a professional foul and have to face the bench. Yes he was carried off but you may also as well as leave the doubt in the mind of your next opponents (Wigan) that he his injured There was 5 seconds left so he could do no more whatever the outcome of the kick. There was also an interesting shot of him and the physio rubbernecking at the screen, didn't look like someone who was injured to me, looked like someone being told to lie down.
I think you will also find that Leeds will play this up in the coming days to also make sure he is not cited. I personally think he should face the disciplinary.
The guy is clever and has a lot of tricks up his sleeve that are more akin to the round ball game than ours. I personally don't like the guy for this, some call it professionalism I call it bad sportsmanship. But he gets away with it, remember the near death experience at Wembley he suffered !!
Also I will also say that I would never wish a serious injury on him though (best get that stated!)

Being one of the hardened Trinity fans, and a seasoned Leeds hater, you allude to I completely agree with you. Idiots like the OP shouldn't be given access to these boards.
I thought McGuire was, as he has been all season, magnificent last night. here's one Trinity fan hoping he is fit fior the next play-off game and the 4 nations.

| I think a Wakefield supporter more than anyone should know how serious it can be when a player goes down injured. Can be a simple tackle but end up much more serious.
Wishing injury on someone is pretty low.

| watching Wigan in the last 30 minutes was not unlike watching Wakefield turning the ball over time and time again in their own half they got what they deserved
Wigan bottled it last night on the big occasion just like they did in the CC V Leeds
It will be a Sts Leeds final and Leeds will be too good for Sts yet again

For all the flair he's undoubtedly got he's still a cheating, snidey little (insert expletive of choice here). It wouldn't be the first time he's feigned injury, only this time he's done it to save himself being sent off instead of to get someone else sent off. Two of the worst cheats wearing 6 on display yesterday!

I thought the same thing myself; odds on he was up and about by the time the stretcher reached the dressing room and laughing about his blatant cheating with the rest of the team by the time they got there. Monsieur Alibert once again totally overawed by a big occasion and ruthlessly exploited by cynical tactics.
The fact that McLennan was involved in the deceit by claiming a foul on McGuire just rubs salt in the wound; very Alex Ferguson-esque and further evidence of the footballisation of rugby league.
I lost count of how many times the commentary team said it was a great advert for rugby league - Leeds are NOT a great advert for rugby league, they're at the forefront of what's going wrong with it.

But he didn't make an accusation did he.
He said he had asked the match commisioner to review the tape and check if anything went on afterwards. He said something happened, but he didn't say what.

| I lost count of the number of times Eddie mentioned Deacon going off!!!
McGuire will do anything to win a game, I wish we had a few players that played with that passion. He took a gamble, if Richards had kicked the penalty, his blatant foul would have cost Leeds the game. I thought Donald was committed to his challenge on Richards, it was a bit harsh bringing the penalty forwards. But, Alibert looked clueless, and appeared to getting guidance from Bentham.
Yes, McGuire is a cheat, but, so is Tompkins, but McGuire is a halfback, Tompkins ain’t no fullback. The lads got great feet & pace to burn, however, he looked decidedly dodgy as a last line of defence & he’s very greedy.
Warrington showed how to do a job on Leeds, batter them in the forwards, Wigan went for pace out wide, and were left wanting.
