1315,regarding your post stating that Max is the best attacking f/b since Cooper,you're way out there IMO.I'll admit my memory of players/matches going back 50 years or so is far from brilliant,but as an attacking force Les Sheard was way in front of him.I think we picked him up for a pittance from Cas after they had got him from union.He was quite a slightly built bloke but with bags of pace and boy could he break the line regularly in attack.I'm not knocking Max,i like him, but think there is still some improvement in him.

Seen we are on about full Backs who was the guy who played about 6 games for us and packed it in to become a male model he had was very fast

As an old git myself I don’t see age coming into the equation if he’s playing well and can adds to the teams dynamics and brings positivity along with him i personally don’t see a problem . If on the other hand he comes along as a passenger then I’ll have a problem. Any good team required a good mix of youth and experience and we have some cracking youngsters chomping at the bit to get a starting spot ,so maybe Gaskell hopefully will be the older head with the experience guiding the youngsters in our squad ,and for me it’s not the age but if the players is up for it that bothers me the most and time will tell on that matter.

I've never once looked at an opponent's team sheet and been worried because Lee Gaskell is playing.

Nope not him.

Gaskell s just above average, that seems to fit our agenda.
He will have one good game followed by one average and one below average. Consistensy not his strong point.
Suppose we will soon know if MJs future remains at the club and if he will be in competition Gaskell.
I really hope things workout for both.

Gaskell has had a few decent games recently, he’s available for next year & hopefully not gonna break the bank. However he’s not what we need, this smells of desperation a la Gigot, you’d hope that the powers that be at Wakey would’ve learnt this lesson by now!

Its funny when a player is coming to the end of there contract they seem to string a few good performances together when in the shop window, someone always takes the bait.

Well it wouldn’t have been an injury prone 31 year old, who on his day is a great attacking player but those days are getting fewer. MC stated we were looking for a full back a while ago, so I’m presuming this is it.

The pack needs spicing up, especially at prop. I’d also prioritise signing up Max Jowitt, who’s a full back!

Lol, Chester is nailed on the coach for the foreseeable. Fits Carter's bill as in cheap and a yes man. Also this is the dictionary definition of a Chester signing. As in cheap, over 30, no better than what's we have and where we have depth. If true about Adam Milner that will be another.

Chester is only a yes man in one respect and that is to accept he can only spend what the man in charge says he can spend. I think Rocky and Walker will be leaving so if we retain Max which i hope we do that would leave us with one recognised fulback which is not enough to get through a super league season. So signing Gaskell is a good move imo as he can cover other positions as well.

In what way has CC treated Jowitt badly, he didn't make him drop the ball nor has he dropped him. We need another FB regardless of whether Max stays or not as Walker is not the answer.

Hampshire and Walker both injured, Hampshire on the verge of a return, so Max gets singled out for making a mistake. Guarrantee first opportunity to drop Max and he will. No mention of the two ball strips from recently re signed player.
