| The confidence and passion the team are playing with is plain for everyone to see , and can now hopefully kick on and get amongst the teams above and cause some headaches for them .Thought today we kept inviting the wires back into the game with errors and penalties, which without that foothold it would have been a much more comprehensive victory ,but credit wakefield we dug in and and never let our heads go down and after that astonishing game saving tackle by Murphy the wires heads went down and it was ours to lose .

I hope I’m wrong as the last few weeks he seems to have rediscovered his mojo and we can keep him but I think it would be very tough to retain him if others as they appear to have done came in for him.
The line he ran for his try was sublime. He actually side stepped the defender before he caught the ball not seen many players do that since the days of Steve Renouf.'"
He can become a big fish in a little pond with us just like Johnstone and build our team around them , but if they decide that they want pastures green then so be it , we simple can’t compete with the big boys in monies or facility’s ,but imo no one is bigger than the club and we thank them for their efforts and move on without them , if that is their choice .

There were a few breaks. Batchelor was one but Whitbread also broke downfield but unfortunately was no support pushing up.

Totally agree - the bloke is an outstanding SR forward and needs to be played there - a waste of talent playing him at prop where he is clearly not comfortable.

He does a job at prop but he’s always been effective at SR. He was always only meant to be a stand in I seem to recall but for some reason it became the norm when it shouldn’t have.
Shame all this time has passed before we move him back to SR. That said I think Pitts has been good in the middle too. Win win really and I’m happy for Pitts to swap to 13 andTanginoa come on fresh at SR with the big runs.

| Just been looking at the "James Batchelor" page on Wikipedia and they've already got him listed as playing for Hull KR in the 2023 season. A little premature I hope.

Whispers is all they are I reckon.
The theory makes no sense if you think about it. Unless Batch is deaf or stupid which he isn’t, he knows that in 12 month Trinity will have player facilities that will be as good as any in SL.
Full gym, warm up room recovery/physio room, meeting rooms and a 24/7 pitch that they both train and play on all year round. Thanks to the 4G pitch we will train in the same facilities we play in, which in player terms will be top notch.
Hull and Saints may have great grounds but I don’t believe that’s where they train. According to Danny Washbrook Hulls training facility was a RU ground with very basic facilities.
As far as I know only Leeds have a dedicated quality training ground of their own but I may be wrong on that.
So facilities and set up are not the issue, as ever money is. After recent efforts I suspect it’s about to be less of one.

| Interesting debate about Pitts … (haven’t seen highlights yet) but my other team (sharks) have stared using Wade Graham as edge forward at the start of the game then using him as a middle from the first or second interchange… and it works well
Good win btw… nice surprise to wake up to!

| Talking to the guys at the match with me and we were talking about whats changed to get us the wins.
Personally I think Poaching called it a few weeks ago.
He said we weren't far off and training was good but that we were losing our focus as soon as the game went against us. Which meant we were throwing silly passes and jumping out of the line and straying from the game plan.
That's exactly why we won today. We bombed plenty of opportunities but stuck at it and came home strong.

Maybe but for me we won one against Hull that we were lucky to win and that gives a team confidence.
We were far better today than last week because we seemed to play with real confidence. We looked up for this game from start to finish.
Coaches need to be lucky as do players at times and Pochings came last week when Gale fluffed two drop goals that normally he’d get with ease. Don’t think luck played much of a part this week, self belief did.

| Quote ="jonh"Batch outstanding but without doubt the key play of the day was the Murphy tackle. Fantastic pace and desire to track back and not only complete the tackle but also force the error.
Thought a few of the lads who needed to improve have over the last 2 weeks. Good, Ashurst, Batch and Tanginoa in particular have picked it up.
=#FF0000Huge result especially with Cas doing us a favour.
Win at Magic weekend I think we should be safe.'"

Long long way to go to being a centre of Tupou or lynne’s quality in both attack and defence , two well taken tries ,but old man Widdop breezed passed him for his try

True and I’m not suggesting Batch move there full time. However in the modern game versatility is vital for all players but especially players at clubs like ours.
To be able to play S/R and LF is handy but to be able to move to centre if needed is hugely valuable. Basically you have a forward and a back in one player in your 17. Rarely do teams have the luxury of a centre on the bench.
So to me that’s added greatly to his value.

That's a very applaudable remark.
I'm puzzled by Warrington's situation - I know we were up for it yesterday and your comments are accurate, but to have so much talent in your team and being where you are makes no sense.

I don't really believe in luck in sport. Hard work gets you opportunities. Some you take some you don't.
