Good to see Cooke becoming more involved. Things will take a while so it was helpful that we have had Salford and Cas (kept the score down against Wire) to get things sorted out.

i did not get back from London in time to make the game but was over the moon when i saw the result a win v Cas is a good win any day of the week for me and we are now 5 clear of Leeds

Thought for a first trip BJ and Cooke looked comfortable with each other and the 2 NEW centre/wing pairings looked like they had been together for years. Its not going to be easy to get so many new partnerships going mid season and we may well get tonked on Monday. I still say however we have a better squad than the start of the season.

Spot on, some on here are getting plainly ridiculous. Derbies are about winning, who gives a toss how it happens. When did this mentality that a win isn't good enough come from. Winning is all that matters, when it's done in style that's just a bonus.

usually think you talk sense but i think you have to see there is a general feeling amongst the "uninformed plebs" of which i count myself one, that we have now not got a team that can raise a level when it matters, basically we have lost our two internationals, and our best forward (pending).

im all for thinking beating cas playing as badly as they are matters usually, but at the moment it doesnt, because vasty, we are playing badly at present and frankly i cant see who is going to drag us out of the mess, cooke is the great hope but id say thats about 30/70 against.

not having a go at someone whos posts i enjoy reading, just trying to get this in perspective.

Cooke for Brough is hardly the most uneven swap ever

Millard for Atkins, different but still quality

Morrison classiest and most creative forward at BV since Solomona IMO

Gledhill and King are both decent replacements for Sculthorpe and Stosic, I liked Stosic but I think people are a little rose tinted in his favour (sounded like Harry Hill then).

However the really big difference this season is that a number of young players are becoming real contenders whilst a few others who have been around a while should really hit there straps this year.

Johnson who is a real classy player is yet to be used.

Over all we are a better stronger squad over all but we all have to concede that Brough has left a gap. One thankfully that seems to be getting filled.

Tronc and Newton are losses but to me only the loss of Brough may cause some problems and that is a may.

That's how I see it.

Well we must be playing bad. A third of the season has gone by and only two of the teams have won more games than us. May be its only me ,but that puts it into perspective how our little 'ol club is doing

fair point PB and in the past ive been mr "rose tinted specs" just a bit worried about how things are panning out, and frankly still a bit sick over brough and tronc, it will pass!
