Anyway just read the full jm interview and I am even more convinced he should stay on as middle man. He has too much knowledge re img process that will be Invaluable over next year or so.'"
Let me break this down for you.
Ok, there is no doubt that JM has IP, that could enable a level of continuity with IMG, RFL going forward. But JM being in the club if that is a concept that people are supporting (including JM of course) must be non executive. Give him a job by all means, but I suspect that JM wants a piece of action tin e ti - this is not me rumour mongering, I’ve just been in these situations before in corporate land and leverage may be in play?
Just a thought, take it or leave it.
By all means give JM a desk, a laptop and a phone, sit him over there and let him continue be the head of IMG relations on a 12 month contract to be reviewed.

| Back seat your comments are fair. I or many others don't know who will wanting what from the deal. From what I see from the comments the vast majority think it makes sense for him to be involved in some capacity.

| Minards has managed to get a stand done which is a total shambles (North) and has built the East stand without any corporate boxes. Said stand now has seats installed upside down and facing the wrong way! Great work John let’s keep it going!!!

Why is the North a total Shambles
Why do you want corporate boxes in East? They are already covered by the flats which are sold out, and would reduce the space for corporate/entertainment events which can earn all year round rather than 12/13 days
I haven't seen a picture of an upside down seat. Just Hearsay so far.
And even if what you said was true, no one else moved forward from a wooden stand with no boxes and a north stand with reduced capacity because it was falling apart (shown very clearly by the but at the back)

Corporate boxes were in the original spec. Have you been to the top of the north stand and looked behind? Have you got your head out of the current incumbents arias’ yet? Will you be reporting this among with many other posts to the club.
Please see attached photo for your reference if I’ve done it correctly

So now you're blaming JM for putting the seats in the upside down/wrong way?
No offence, but that is pathetic.

| I think John Minards is vastly overplaying the value of his “knowledge” of IMG processes and his relationships with construction companies. The IMG formula isn’t rocket science and IMG themselves will be on hand to provide help and information to all clubs especially if they’re new owners who’ve come to the party late. As for the building projects, they’re all underway, have detailed plans and will be just a continuation until completed.
There are no partnerships that can’t be handed over and meetings can be held where new owners meet those partnering with the club. It just strikes me that John WANTS to stay involved and that’s OK but if the new ownership wants a clean slate then Minards should accept that and make the transition as easy as possible.

I think most people accept that and presume that is what's happening. It was written [uin block capitals[/u on here the other day that the completion date is set.

| Seems like a bit of a witch hunt on Minards now that Carter has taken a back seat. No idea what the hold up is on the takeover and I am frustrated with how long its taking. I think we're way past due diligence and whatever is causing the hold up, if its from the current board, they should really relent. If Ellis sees benefit of Minards staying then that's up to him.
The stadium criticism is way off though. The reason the North Stand, which I love by the way, is short of the initial proposal is because the massive increase in costs right when we were about to start. Seats wrong way round, nothing to do with Minards, corporate boxes, times moved on from the 1990's. Hospitality is now a lounge with prime seats in the stand these days. See Anfield for example.

| I've just gone through the scores for performance.
Best you can get is 5 by coming top, winning GF and CC.
If you assume the league positions stay as they are now, we would end up 12th on the average for all the 3 years and bonus points.
It's close for us assuming Fev win GF. We are only just ahead of them because they won 1895 2 years ago and Toulouse winning GF
Leigh have jumped up with 1895, GF, Cc and a 4th finish this year.
It would be
9 Leigh 3.23
10 Salford 3.21
11 Cas 3.18
12 Trin 2.92
13 Toulouse 2.74
14 Fev 2.7
So winning GF and 1895 will really help us next year as there is an extra 0.35 points there.
Next year our max points could be 3.01 taking our average to 2.92 again. Fev would have to finish 7th to beat that.
It's only part of criteria of course

I follow the guys who test all the hospitality across the football league and Scotland and the big dining lounge is very popular.

| I didn't realise what primacy of tenure meant.
We have it. Huddersfield, Wigan, Hull etc don't but I was thinking it was about owning your ground but it looks like it's just you have prime use, so Cas and Fev would have it too.
