Spending within our means should remain a priority. Just because we are in a better position than some it doesn't mean we should be reckless and start tapping up players or splashing the cash for the sake of it.. I'm sure if players need to moved on Bradford will still be looking for fees. Although I don't confess to knowing the ins and outs im not certain we could do any more than take over contracts for no fee. Refreshing to see MC's realistic comments on here as always.

Anybody else think Ali could be used as an impact prop this year? He has always done his best work on the fringes, but as he gets older this is becoming less regular. I cant decide if he could be useful in 20min spells down the middle??
Craig Hall & a scrum half would do for me right now and leave me happy. Throw Danny Addy in there as well and id be well chuffed.

After the way he rolled back the years to destroy Castleford in our last game I'd still use him out wide and off the bench.

The pack looks bigger and stronger than last years now though it remains to be seen if they'll combine as well and be as effective.

It was his performance against Cas that put me in 2 minds. The problem is as he gets older, those performances are fewer and far between, which is no disrespect to Ali, its just what happens with age.
He still does a job on a regular basis, but he wont break the line and offload at will like he used to, hence a shift into the middle of the park might be an option?

I think if you play Ali in the middle you would kill what he has left to offer. For me he´s an impact player, off the bench out wide where he does it best.
