Crigg u11's won yesterday at shaw cross 46-18 . Sounds like a walkover , but fair play to Shaw Cross , they played some good rugby at times just defensively they let themselves down .
Don't know who the ref was but he was terrible - didn't seem to know the rules & the only thing he indicated was the fifth tackle - it's a thankless task i know, but if you want to ref then you've got to be positive and let the players know why a decisions been made .

Crigg u11's beat Eastmoor yesterday morning 28-12 . Wait for an excuse filled report in the express on Friday ( if they even bother - must keep it hush ,hush that they've lost! ).

not put our last two results on but here goes the week before last we lost 16-10 at eastmoor and despite some reports that eastmoor played with less players i can tell you that wasnt true and both teams had the same number even though it meant us having 7 subs on the day.

this saturday we hosted stanningley and came out on top winning 6-4 with both teams defending very well in a tough encounter,think we deserved the win in the end but in the second half we had to defend for our lives has stanningley threw everything they had at us but having taken a early 6-0 lead it wasnt until the very last play of the game stanningley broke our defence but thankfully the conversion never got close.

westgate 16s beat Greetland in the top four play off final at upton, 14 - 10 so happy for the lads and my son

How difficult would it be for the whole registration process be to be made electronic? i can do anything from my phone or pc (even getting HMRC to refund my tax!), surely forms could be filled in electronically etc so that there is an electronic trail..just in case anything went astray!

thought we had upset you but i guess saturday was a very good day all round. not many teams go to eastmoor and win . in fact just coming home with nothing stolen is a bonus .

great team and some good players at moore shame that some grown ups let them down .

next season will be a great season if the same 8 stay up and two more get put into league as per norm i can already see a 4 horse race for the leauge .... with an outsider maybe .

although CAB, CP , CLL , and ED will be the ones to beat

agree with how tough it will be for next season,you could be in the running for top 4 and face a relegation battle at the same time,thats how tight it is at our age group.lets hope we have got a age group thats strong which i believe is the case sometimes when you get 1 team that dominates the league that competion of teams looking to improve goes out of the window.next year i also think we will see an influx of new players once the kids get to high school so some sides will look a little different.

The mighty Sharlston Rovers this afternoon won the BARLA National cup, beating Fryston 20 - 18 in a dramatic final at Fylde RUFC.
The winning try was scored with about thirty seconds left on the clock. The ref blew straight aftter the failed conversion attempt.

Good game, and well worth the drive to Blackpool and the £6 entrance fee.

yes he is going to cas high he had the choice between cas high and st wilfreds but he wants to go to cas high,has for lock lane has i tell all my kids and parents never say never.we have kids from lock lane,stanley and fev lions in our team now.

just read moors report which took 7 days moore (see what i did there ) than when they won ... crigg should hang there heads in shame asking for as many of the team to be available to play as possible. to be fair the ref should of made sure that it was 12 a side at all times and that although inconvenient crigg would have to have 6 subs . it makes the victory look a sham to realise that moore had to put up with there 12 players getting into a game plan .

im that annoyed about this i think that if any video or dvd evidence exists then it should be hand delivered to the houses of parliament for the sports committee to raise as an urgent question . the same happened the week befor at cas would you know.

no he isn't, mr bray refused him so had to appeal..don't know charlie bray from adam but some things don't seem quite right, how can 1 person make decisions on an 11 year old kid ? what he is saying is that because he played under 12 he cannot transfer until next season..i can't see anything in the rules but it is "unwritten!" i am glad football at junior level has a semblance of professionalism! little un is a bit upset about it all and can't really understand it...

I think when you're a parent it's quite easy to be blinkered when it comes to your own child's team. Whilst it may be amusing to ridicule other clubs and coaches, I think you need to remember that it's an amateur sport and the coach in question gives up a lot of his own time to coach these kids, as well as being a parent himself. I know for a fact he will do anything to look after those players, and I don't think you can ask for anymore than that, regardless of whether you're Crigg, Eastmoor or anyone else. I think anyone who gives up their own time deserves a little bit more respect than bashing on a public forum, especially when you've given as much to the game as him and his family.

As you said, they're also struggling to get a full side together each week. Trust me, it's not much fun when, as a 9/10/11 year old, you turn up on a match day not really knowing whether you'll have enough players to actually start the game. And then you get comments like "in fact just coming home with nothing stolen is a bonus". If someone comes on here and is thinking of taking their kids to a local club, they would not take them to Eastmoor when they read things like that. And then you wonder why they turn up with 12 players. It's a shame, as Eastmoor is a cracking club. I know how frustrating junior rugby can get, but I think people need to remember that it is just that, junior rugby.

If I remember correctly, the rules on transferring between clubs were drawn up due to Stanley Rangers pulling together the entire Yorkshire side from different clubs at Under 15 level around 16 years ago. Most of the players then went on to sign for Halifax I think. Chris Chester was the star player.

I have to agree - the results of local amateur and junior teams is interesting; the petty sniping and inter-club politics of said teams is most definitely not.
