| Quote ="vastman"I'm still behind them and will be at every match cheering them on. I'm just pointing out how even the most optimistic of fans have lost a lot of belief in this team this season. Be honest deep down are you going on Sunday expecting the same as last Friday? Hoping perhaps, but expecting. I'm not talking winning here, nobody can really expect that, I'm just talking performance levels. The crux of this season and why it's been so soul destroying has not been the results but the nature. One week we will look frankly excellent as last week, then for no obvious reason we look like a team of strangers, many of whom appear to have never played the game before. It's this Jekyll and Hyde act that is destroying the fans moral, if we were just plain crap we'd have accepted that, but when you know how well a team can play but it consistently doesn't then you start to question.'"
My reply was a bit tongue in cheek but, I know that some fans have thrown in the towel this season.
I really would be interested to know quite what changed in the last 2/3 weeks though.
To go from the poor fayre served up v KR and Toulouse and to then push Saints al the way and finally beat Cas (and very convincingly) has been a remarkable turnaround.
In fact quite staggering.
You suggest Jekyll and Hyde but, there have been very few high points or, decent performances.
Hopefully, the last couple of games have given everyone an indicator as to what is possible from this group of players.
We certainly have some "grunt" in the pack now, which should be the platform to some solid performances and it's great to be looking forward to the next game, rather than turning up just through loyalty and meeting up with pals.

I was mainly thinking of the Warrington games.

| I think the obvious improvement started with the loan signing of Shaul who appears to tell players where to mark up. He definitely appears more vocal than Jowitt but Shaul will assist his development.

He wouldn't be back row for me.
If he plays he's off the bench and maybe even at prop.

Notice Toulouse seem to get off lightly with the review panel. Thought someone got done for a crusher on Friday isn’t that a ban?

Read that a Toulouse player almost “took so so early head off” but haven’t seen anything.
Hopefully we keep the focus firmly on Catalans. I’ve been impressed by how focused and enthusiastic in defence the players appear to have been this past 2 games. I’m actually looking forward to going on Sunday to watch them play!

| Defend as we have for the last 2 games and we have a chance of getting something from the game.
Certainly far from easy. Maybe we should tell the lads we're playing Cas

I'm watching the Saints results. We need them to slip up again as we don't want them going into their final game against Toulouse with nothing to play for, where they might even put the kids out to rest key players. Unless we can go into that final game two wins ahead.

My mate, who's a reasonable Leeds fan said Tompkins was a disgrace last week, never shut up. This is a Leeds fan who openly admits that he used to be embarrassed by Sinfield overdoing it, but now reckons he was mute compared to the Catalan gob on legs.

Or we could go to Saints and win?
Ridiculous but not as ridiculous as it was a few weeks ago.

Or even Wigan? The big teams have a habit of overlooking us, expecting an easy beat (which often turns out to be the case, of course).

That was my thought too. He offers alot in my opinion, too much to leave out, but then every player has put a shift in for the last couple of weeks so do you go with 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' mentality? rather Willie than me

| At the end of the day the referee has nothing to do with it!
IF we play as we have the last two games we will win. what we don't want is that rubbish we were playing prior to the Saints match.

Don’t agree entirely. They can have a huge impact and have cost us dear on the past. However this year we’ve done ok with only a few games where the reffing went heavily against us. As you say it’s certainly not the reason why we are where we are this season.
