| Quote ="Scarlet Pimpernell"They in theory should be the easiest of the SL teams because they finished in 11th albeit with a few more points than us.'"
Sheffield or Fax at home would have been "easier" but who knows ?
All of the teams in the "qualification league" will fancy their chances and with 5 wins from 7 needed to be certain of SL next season it's going to be very tight and if any of the "favourites" slip up, the door will open slightly wider for the rest.
If you lose the first one, it means winning 5 from 6, which will be a massive ask for ANY of the middle 8 clubs.
Leigh KR will be the most interesting game of the weekend.
Leigh will be fired up and who knows which KR will turn up, especially after their heroics against Wire at the weekend.

| Just been watching the Grand final highlights on Sky.
2008 Leeds won with Smith, Ali, Scruton and Kirke playing.
Smith had a blinder. Hope they play that well on Sunday (Kirke apart)

| I have a long planned commitment so can't get to the game on Sunday. Does anyone know if you can record the game from Sky extra?

city airport, cost £5 and is a 5 minute stroll to the site of the moon landings, straight back onto dual carriageway afterwards with no fuss.

| Locke and kirmond still out, grix no chance of playing this year! Apart from them everybody available for selection, very interested in whom Brian thinks are the best combinations and best players in certain positions .. We certainly have to go out to win every game from now on...

| Half back is the biggest question.
If Miller, Smith, Godinet and Hall are all fit, who do we go with?
I like Miller and Godinet personally but it just feels wrong not to play Tim Smith.
If he's been fit and we've just been resting him but running drills with him so our runners are ready to work with him. then I'd have him in. Any doubt and it's Miller Godinet

| The half back partnership the crunch. I'm not sure what the best option would be. Smith on his day can run the plays but seen very little of it all season. Millers played better when Smith not playing, it's a bit of a problem. I'm sur Brian Smith will have his best partnership in mind

Seems a strange loan signing if that's true, perhaps we are playing the 'longer game' with him. (unless you are playing the game to our opposition )
Kirmond is due back for the last 2 games of the 7, rehab better than first thought.

| Godinet might play at interchange hooker when he comes back, leaving Miller and Smith to play in the halves
I can't see how Miller can be left out

I believe if true it will be older brother helping younger brother by taking a player who can't play off their books and replacing him with an Australian half back who can. I believe that Grix is still at Warrington under their medical staff supervision. I suppose we will find out if he plays in any of the next seven games.

Difficult one really. Think I would go with Miller and Smith initially and if Smith is not going well change for Godinet.

| Smith has a lot to prove for me and if he doesn't hit the ground running in round one of be reluctant to see him in again.
I'd prefer godinet at 6 and Miller 7 with sio/Moore at 9.
Be interesting to see what Brian smith goes with.

Miller and Smith Does not work, and IMO is the worst possible combination based on what I have seen this season.
Smith gets all the ball and Miller is left to pale into the background.
really hope that is not the combination.

Don't see the benefit to Wire of having Grix off their books, if he is not going to play for us then surely we won't be paying him anything to be a 'non player'. If we aren't paying him then that is no financial saving to Warrington, unless he still lives over this way and it saves them travelling expenses that they may pay him.
It must be the intention for him to play for us either this season or the next, or both!

| It's not a money thing, they have loads of that. It's a player numbers and salary cap numbers thing so that Sandow can play.

I can neither confirm nor deny that of course but the evidence in the public domain does indeed lead one to think that the benefits of the deal are not in relation to a player playing at Wakefield this year.

| Seems we have just done Warrington a favour. There is a maximum squad number as well as a salary cap limit for the super 8's is there not? So to bring in Sandow they possibly needed to move someone on. If Grix isn't going to play this year theres no reason for us to have taken him on and they rate him highly so he won't be here next season. Seems like Brian has helped Tony out with no benefit to us.

Perhaps some money's changed hands or maybe there's a promise of a player loan next season which will really benefit Wakefield Trinity.
