The Trip is right,
it doesn't cost that much to knock up a bit of a report even if it was one sided and just about our positives, this why we are looking so amateurish

Don't talk daft; no-one expects them to send an outside broadcast unit - a decent match report and a link to the interview would have been enough.

Unfortunately, we don't seem to have anyone at the club who understands the importance of a proper communication strategy - it's a problem that comes up time and again.

i have to agree with the original post and title of this thred. the balance of the side is wrong.
yesterday, we had no "gears". when leeds stepped up the pace, they blew us away. i cannot recall us making more than 2 passes in any play.

i would have thought that the squad wanted to play rugby, but the style of play looked all too familiar to me (same as the end of last season). none of our problems from last year have been addressed (poor defense out wide, struggle to clear our own line, kicking game not up to it etc)

i went to the match hoping to see some hope, but came away very deflated. if the game was a trial as to who we were going to keep for next season, then we would have korky and paul johnson, + possibly tommy lee. the rest did nothing to enhance / prove anything.

kear has always built his teams around a big pack with a creative scrum half. we now have neither.

Would expect that all concerned with Trinity, including fans and staff, went home reasonably happy yesterday. THATS WHAT A FAN ON HERE THOUGHT ABOUT IT

One Question...

Why didnt we have the names printed on the back of the shirt?

We have a new team basically so to enable the fans to get to know the players as quickly as possible surely the best idea was to have the names printed on the back.

The squad numbers were given out early december.

No excuses can be given for this imo

I have to say I wasn't attracted to the light blue away kit IMHO it has no affinity to Wakefield Trinity.

In my opinion Kear is in the process of clearing the deadwood from last season and replacing them with young, enthusiastic and determined english lads. The likes of Gledhill and Johnson at prop are a prime example however, there's a knack to accompanying that youth with season experienced pro's and those with quality in pivotal positions.

Three area's worry me, two of which Kear touched upon (Prop & SH), the last, Defence (Goal Line more over), which never showed signs of improving last season. I do believe Kear is in danger of losing his job if the back end of last season is repeated

I thought the grass was terrible, the team didnt warm up correctly and the sun wasnt shining in the right direction....

Leeds had 10 first teamers out from our starting 17 if you include Jjb who went off after 15 mins or so. Peacock, kylie, buderus, hall, senior, Bailey, McGuire, huaraki and clarkson our young player of the year and shooting star 2010.

Seems some of you wakey fans are saying Leeds wernt that great? But until we stuck all the kids on at the end with 10 to go you didn't have a sniff really.

it seems like a few on here have there head in the sand. But it's only preseason so no need to be too concerned. But Leeds walked it.

Not forgetting the 22 points we gave you from mistakes that had we cut out would I am sure have left a different scoreline. Also take off your tinted specs we too had a young side out and if we had had the best 13 on you wouldny have got the 22 points give away

I think it's too early too say for wakey. It could be a tough season but your not alone. I think Cas, crusaders, Quins and the dragons have real problems too. I also really think the bulls are heading for a big fall again. They have one halfback who couldn't get a game in the nrl. there is big talk coming out of bulls land, they have an unbalanced squad. wakey could come right under the radar.

Wow there tiger! Take a chill pill. I just think wakey fans are kidding themselves saying that was not far off Leeds first team. It was quite strong for boxing day. but as I said ten blokes were missing who will be looking to be playing week in week out. for 70 mins you wernt in it until the kids were given a run out all together, regardless of what mistakes you made.

You could well be fighting it out with Salford and the bulls for 8th spot.

defo 8 players dead certs. JJB hardley player so that would be 9 certs in the 17. A lot of Leeds fans think Clarkson should start let alone be on the bench so there's 10 players who will all be looking to be playing week in week out.

You can only have 17 in a match day squad at any one time. Something leeds fans seem to forget on a regular basis.

Dont forget leeds' 18th man, the ref.

it's 18 in a Match day squad incase you lose a player in the warm up. But obviously only 17 can play(plus the ref with us being Leeds the most penalised team in 2009)

Last season Kirke was out played by all the above. Burgess has always and still is behind bailey who had his best season for Leeds in a long time last year. burgess makes more yards but his defence is a liability. Bailey is a machine in defence and winds up the other team no end. Teams are too busy trying to smash Bailey, instead of McGuire, Webb , burrow and sini.

as I said 9/10 first teamers missing on Saturday, 8 if you don't want to count Jjb and clarkie.
