I wouldn't mind seeing Petersen out to keep Obst here. Obst is a fantastic player and has a great determination that we need. Whereas Petersen hasn't really done anything (I know he's had injuries e.t.c. and he's not really been terrible, he's just not been...anything). But I thought Sideshow had another year left on his contract? Or are Cas trying to sign him as well?

Why cant the club just let the fans know if a player is leaving/left or is stayin??

Because they would need to name his replacement I suppose and as of yet there is no body to do that

A player may be 'in negotiations' with us - even though they have already signed elsewhere.
A player we don't think we need may be needed - once other players have made their decisions known.
A player coming in may not be allowed to go public - as it's before the deadline date.

There are so many reasons why the club can't be sure themselves, never mind releasing details to us lot!

Without wanting to be too blunt, the answer is: because it is nothing to do with us.
Until players have contracst sorted it is personal between them and the club. The fact that some people leak the details is wrong and causes all the fuss with the fans.
Much as I'd like to know all the details, unless I get on the board sometime soon I'll assume I'll find out the details when they are officially agreed.

I see League Weekly has quited Kear as saying Petersen is still on payroll and has not been let go.
and implies he will be here next year as he has a 2.5 year contract.

There are 3 names mentioned who have signed but their details have not been released - for whatever reason - but not the big headline ones you have mentioned.

I really am at a loss in all this. I know we want some better players - all clubs do - and I know we want players who want to be with us, but I am really disappointed with the time all this is taken and the number of players choosing to be elsewhere.

Last year was the first time we have had stability - now we've gone right back to changing half the squad again - it's just not right and doesn't allow anyone to keep favourites.

There - I've said it - I DON'T agree with the recruitment policy for next year. We had Ollie gagging for a contract in April - and now it looks as if we've lost him. Disappointed TBH and I think it will hurt us in our run-in!

Internally- beginning to side with you on this mate, OW + the false info on snitch's deal, the situation is typical of a team waiting to find out if it survives the looming relegation run not leave the 6 and move into the top 4. But to do that we needed to build on what we had going with quality signings not lose 2 real stars because we hadn't the foresight to sign them when they wanted earlier, tbf when they were playing out of their skins.

yeah that was meant on the basis we keep OW,SS, who are due OOC at the end of the season, who i feel are key components of our squad.- a perfect world scenario if you will. Although i think in the long run our youth system is strong enough to cope with this potential loss it would need us to sign someone like Boyle from Cas to cover it in the short term.

RA & DB are still under contract but i feel we should give them the chance to reaffirm their loyalties, and pardon the pun, keep the wolves from the door.

What about Blaymire? Grix? Still baffled that Snitch is OOC.

i know it was obvious pre-season if i can recall we said he looked like he was going to go well. the extension should have been a boxing day present if you ask me.
