| If Locke is fit enough to play then I'd play him and move Lee Smith into the centre position resting Arundel. That would make us a stronger attacking threat in the backs in addition to a pack that is packing a punch at the moment.
Washbrook as utility on bench in case it doesn't work so centre covered with Smith back to full back. When Washbrook is gone there won't be a squad player that has the same utility value as we let Ryan go...

| I guess this is all speculation because I have not read anything to say Locke is fit and the last with regards Kirmond was he is unlikely to play this season.

Didn't Kirmond play centre for a match a season or two ago and was not up to it?
Ryan did a very good job there regularly.

| Locke has played on the wing a fair amount I believe.
Wouldnt move smith from fb where he's doing a good job and its a risk moving him to centre against a team who can expose opportunities out wide. Arundel looks fitter than when he came too and makes plenty of forward ground.
Smith
Lynne
Arundel
Topou
Locke/Johnstone
Would be my shout

I think you'd have to go back To early 2010 for the last game we won with Child as ref.

The Wkeield bandwagon is just starting to roll, don't put the skids under it, or is this reverse psychology (like the Bulls being faster fitter stronger)

I would hope so, very disappointing from the SL clubs so far imo, and Wakey has a more traditional feel to its fan base.

About what?
The two things are not mutually exclusive - it is exciting to watch a team who are prepared to chuck it about and play what's in front of them, rather than stick a rigid, structured game plan; the point however, is that it shouldn't work against a decent SL team - there is a reason that the best coaches in the world play a structured, percentage game - because on balance, it yields more consistent results.
All that said, I'm very aware that for the majority of this season, we haven't been a decent SL team - so dependent on which WTW turns up, it could work for Leigh. If it doesn't however, I'm sure there'll be a long phone call between Eddie and Paul Rowley on Boots n' All, blaming it all on the SC and Wakefield's evil habit of signing players to replace ones who have left.

So tell me, which players 'asked to leave' and were replaced a week or 2 later ? Did they not 'ask to leave' when Webster was coach ? You can 'dress it up all you like'. Smith wanted changes, and he got them. It has worked well, credit to the coaching staff.

| The chairman asked in public, who wants to leave? They were told if they dont want to be here they could go. It looks like a few did, so they found clubs to go to and we had cap to spend.

Sounds to me Budgiezilla that you have jumped on the 'you can't do that, you're supposed to go down without a fight' bandwagon.
Brian Smith has a wealth of experience and obviously didn't mince his words when he took over.
Who wants in and who wants out?
Paea, Collis and Sammut went.
Smith and McShane were going at the end of the season and MC struck a deal with the respective clubs they were going to.
Matt Ryan was released, so he was the only one that may have cost a pay off.
Got Locke on peanuts and Lee Smith probably didn't cost much.
You have blown £50,000 on a 34 year old hooker to get you in SL!
For your sake, I hope it works.

| Didn't MC go into the dressing room after one particularly bad defeat and tell the players "any one that doesn't want to be here can leave" or words to that effect?

Where is the problem ?
We cleared some "dead wood" and brought in some blokes who can and want to play RL.
Personally, I think the transfer deadline should be earlier in the season but, it isn't.
You sound like you're getting your excuses in before the game kicks of, just in case..............
It will be a tough game today, no question. Both clubs cant afford to lose, although, I think this is a dress rehearsal for the £million game.
Unless KR suffer due to their Wembley appearance, Wakefield in 4th and Leigh 5th looks nailed on.

| Can't see what the fuss is about. New coach comes in and moves some players out and brings some in. Happens in many sports.

Could well be the pre run for 'the million pound game' so it might be down to The Trin playing home or away.
