I watched the game on Saturday whilst crossing the Irish Sea on a very large ferry. The volume was turned down for the benefit of the other travelling folk and in a funny sort of way for me as well.

Well sky have just produced a insight in to the 8s on boots and all. It showed the players that have signed for Wakey since B Smith joined, it did not however show the players that have gone. Eddy bless him admitted that no rules had been broken but that it was not in the spirit of the game.
Paul Rowley also chipped in with his views on the same subject and stated that the first two rounds would always have proved difficult because of S L opposition.
All agreed how important the game on Saturday would be.

I'm glad I don't watch that crap anymore. I didn't hear Rowley complaining before the 8s, were these rules not applicable to all clubs. Did Rowley and the Sky pundits support the format when it was first announced? I suspect he was suffering from the same delusions as the Leigh fans thinking hammering Part timers is an indication of performance against fulltimers playing for their careers.

Naught naughty Wakefield replacing their coach after losing god knows how many games on the trot and releasing players that were injured or didn't want to play for us anymore and daring to replace them with players and a coach that wants to give their all for the rest of the season. Leigh and Bradford haven't changed a thing because they have been winning consistently all season and thought they would carry on doing so. Nobody said a word about anything until we won Bradford at the weekend and now poor Eddies getting in a spin because we look like we are actually going to compete in these qualifiers. Come on Wakey lets give Eddie a real headache and win at Leigh on Saturday !!!!!!

On the topic of "everyone against us" I usually think its just our fans been a little paranoid. But Eddie couldn't have made it more obvious tonight on Boots n all. I couldn't really care less wether its in the spirit of the game changing significant amounts of players. If it's in the rules then they shouldn't be even suggesting it. I don't remember them questioning Wigan breaking the salary cap to stay up!

Yes they did - for Leigh; no mention of Wakey other than as a annoying obstacle to Leigh's entry into SL - and a strong focus on how we've gone against the spirit of the comp by signing a new coach and replacing some outgoing players.

It was never more obvious than tonight where Eddie's loyalties lie - it's outrageous and if I were MC, instead of doing press statements about 4 people misbehaving at BV last week, I'd be on to Sky demanding some right to reply.

To be able to ascertain our playing budget how many clubs could in theory allow a player to be added to their salary cap who will never play and still not reach the limit set. I think that should give an indication of what we actually spend on player's salaries.

Bradford signed clare, neilsen and ryan in 8's and i cant recall any players leaving so why arent their actions being questioned?

He was only interested in highlighting the inequities of SL teams who have signed new players, and how that makes it unfair for the plucky lower league teams; and their snazzy little graphic failed to match up the players we'd signed, with the ones they were replacing.

In Eddie and Paul Rowley's self-pitying little circle jerk, our actions were against the spirit of the competition - we should instead have gone into the middle 8's with only 2/3 of a squad, to give Leigh a better chance.

Just watched Eddie and Rowley's 'bitchfest'.
Was great when he turned to Tony Rea for backup, Eddie's face lit up when Rea half agreed with him but when Rea put the other side of the story to him, you could see Hemmings crestfallen expression.
Motivation enough, to go to Leigh and have Hemmings sling the rope over the rafters afterwards.

I think Jacob Miller should nut him in the clock-weights in the act of scoring his third try.

In the event of your team playing awfully for the majority of the season, or even on the cusp of an injury crisis - Taking action in an attempt to steer away from impending doom, is not in the spirit of the game.
