Of course there's room for optimism, Spooki, and I'm glad that you've had a lot of good luck and nice things happen in your life that have made you so, but there'e "optimism" ie "hope" and there's that other type of optomism that could just as easily be termed "in denial". There are one or two posters on here that fall into the latter category and despite all the negative evidence put before them still cannot accept the truth and I'm afraid Pop Tart, historically falls into that type. as Trinity fans we all "hope" that they will do well, and, particularly this season, will escape the drop, but realistically it seems to all realists that it is unlikely that we will survive.
I can categorically state that I'm not a bully, and I'm sure that PT and others of that ilk can take a little friendly mickey taking. Bullying is a very strong term and should not be used lightly!!!

You mix up denial with fact checking.
I've clearly said when I see things that are wrong, however I don't like the pile on from the posters who only post when things are going wrong.....and just make things up in hindsight just to look like they know something. They clearly don't.
Or just ignore the fact that no one has credible alternatives but blames the club for their decisions.

No one goes out there to lose a game. All this slagging off players, and coach and board is sometimes by people who are upset and sometimes by people who don't care about the club and just enjoy putting people down. And I hate that.

By and large I agree with what you say. I'm not one who only posts only when things are going wrong. Ninety per cent of my posts on here tend to be light-hearted or mickey taking and nostalgic points re matches and players long gone. I tend to not get involved in slagging players, coaches or directors, and technical matters of the game. I leave the latter to those who like to analyse tactics etc. I just go along and watch the game. After watching WT for 66 years I thing it goes without saying that I DO care for the club.

The problem is they are going wrong the majority of the time and you don’t need hindsight just look at our last few seasons. I am sure they do not go out to lose but they do even when the circumstances are in our favour,
I am angry because we need not be in this position but I am not seeing anything that’s going to change it.
I wonder if those running the club have the inclination or finances to get us out of the championship if we are relegated.

PT and anyone else who went to KR yesterday have my upmost respect. I gave up on away games a while back.
They are at least doing their bit to try and support the team through an horrendous time, I salute them.

Watching right in front of me Coote’s waltzing through 6 players each looking at each other as if it’s not their job without a hand being laid on him is hardly Poching’s fault or MC’s for that matter , they are supposedly fighting for their super league survival yet looked to all intense and purpose like a team having a pre-season friendly. Does it really Need Poching to tell them the gravity of the situation that we face or are they so isolated from the media that they don’t know what’s happening at the club and what relegation means to us and also them to a large degree.No denying that Poching is a lovely man but the softly softly approach has got us to this point of virtually no return and has had a detrimental effect on the teams efforts , they have obviously seen him as a soft touch and continued on a downward spiral because there doesn’t seem to be any consequences for poor performances. Going down to me seemed a horrendous proposition a while ago and a dismal prospect,but if that’s what it takes to sort the wheat from the chaff , so be it , because what I witnessed yesterday ,they simply aren’t up for the fight ,but I’ll support the club whatever .

There was lots of effort and we dominated for long stretches, only just just throw the ball away.

It is all about execution. We got into good positions with clear space in front, only for Miller to send the ball sailing in to touch......3 times.
We gave the ball over when we didn't put the ball in the scrum before the clock ran out. I don't think I've seen any other club do that.
Just not good enough.

My full family went including my 2 young kids, mum dad etc. we looked promising the first half, especially after SKD and Hadley went off, I thought with the opportunities we’d created in the first half we’d be good for the result the second half. We looked absolutely clueless against a poor and weakened KR team. We had no structure what so ever in our attack, instead of grounding them to the floor we had no composure. When Coote went over literally untouched that sealed our SL fate. Millers kicking game was an absolute embarrassment, not only his kicks to touch for penalty’s where I could literally throw it further but his in field kicks, what were our players meant to do behind that? It’s alright going down on your haunches at the end as though they’d given everything but we played so dumb that only the players can take responsibility for that. Hull KR were there for the taking and we simply bottled it as we don’t have the Rugby IQ to play a winning brand of rugby, other teams literally have to hand it to us on a plate.

Pretty much sums a lot of the problem up - let's face it they haven't been up for the fight most of the season.
I too think our time in SL is now up - I honestly cannot see a way out of this, but like you say if it takes a drop down to have a sort out then it may not be a bad thing.
When/If we return I would like to think it would be on a better financial footing because for the majority of years we've been in SL we have struggled and it really does get a bit depressing constantly witnessing it!

For a start 1315 no long term contracts on has beens , build a team around our youngsters if possible, will be hard but I think if these two divisions take shape after next season we’d be in the second tier anyway , so we might as well start building from the ground up , because there is nothing more deflating for a fan to put the effort in to turn up at away games or home games for that matter and the team doesn’t perform, it’s not the defeats for me but the manner of the defeats that really bite hard

With our utter inability to complete sets, we cant and wont win another game.
I'm sure that someone will have the stats for yesterday but, for all our errors and bad calls from the ref (there weren't many yesterday), its our inability to get to and execute a last tackle play that stuffed us.
There is a total lack of intensity and we're supposed to be fighting for our SL future.
Maybe some of the senior players, already have club for next season and so they're not bothered enough but, they bloody well should be.

Did not go ,but if that is right about the penalties from the scrum it sounds like some of them could not be arsd My good mate who went said the same about Miller and Liino ,but the forwards gave 100%

I agree. Also if the two divisions are structured properly the second division could be almost as competitive as SL1, so agree - a season to get ready for it.

how can you give credible alternatives when the deals are done the club aren't going to ask the fans who to bring are they,
many on here have voiced their opinions and have been proven right which you don't like, as much as you hate them coming here on defeats I don't like the constant burrowing the head in the ground attitude as if everything is going to ok

Possibly that all of our new additions this year apart from hall are not SL standard and are one of the reasons we find ourselves where we are. A lot of people have said from the start of the season the recruitment has been very poor. Results have proven that sadly alongside. 2022 has been the worst recruitment I’ve seen in my time watching, no coincidence we are going down this year. Not saying this with joy, I’m genuinely gutted it’s got to this.

It's easy to call it out after they've played. Fair enough no one was impressed with Gaskell but Lineham had some logic. Just turned out to be an unsuccessful signing.
It's not like they went out to get rubbish. They made a decision. Some good some not.
It doesn't mean every decision was bad.

Even Lino isn't looking great at the moment but he is hardly a bad signing. He's been great and is sought after.

I've never disagreed when you pick people out that had a poor game. Only that not everyone had a poor game, and that many are putting a lot of effort in for no reward.

Drop Lino and Miller, move them out now to their new clubs. Two quota places freed up if the clubs have space, unlikely, or just drop them from the squad. Miller a headless chicken, Lino bone idle.
Walker and Jowitt can surely be no worse.

I agree we have to do something to give us some chance of avoiding the drop.

Didn’t know Lino had a new club. Thought he was contracted to trinity next season as it stands.

I’ve always had my reservations about Miller. He will bleed RWB I don’t doubt but he doesn’t create enough and his running game has become somewhat less effective as years go by. I would t say he’s developed over the many years he’s been here.

who I think has been decent. The likes of Lineham, Gaskell, Hood and Butler have been bang average, again I did say they were part of the reason not just solely rested on them as slot of our current squad have been poor too.

100% agree said this in an earlier post. If miller is going play walker. He's are captain, one of our most experienced senior players, yet dosen't seem to be putting in a captains knock just going through the motions. The teams flat and unfotunately for us its the senior high earning players who are not performing.
