Iv got a season ticket seated near someone who likes to be heard and all game he was going on about how bad a coach Webster is for not having sammut in the team then he named his team for next week and put jowit 1 hall 6 and smith 7 no mention off sammut anywere haha just thought I would share because I found it funny

Would be nice to give Sammut a go, however the weekly bleats from people who think they know better than the coach (not just on here) is getting embarrassing

Don't think anyone has stated they know more than the coach who most of us rate highly, just expressing opinions which often then get ridiculed on this forum if it involves any criticism of who plays and who doesn't.

Sammut must be on one of the highest paid contracts at the club but has not yet played a SL game this season despite the team's form deteriorating and that he is fit to play.

Think he should be sold if at all possible if the situation continues especially when the club is struggling financially and is having to get other players in on loan.

I understand and share your frustrations, and I think JS should be given his chance, but how do you suggest we "Get rid"?

Most SL teams will be up to the cap, full time championship clubs will be up to there cap and I doubt any part time club would take him on loan and pay anywhere near his full wages.

I think the best we can hope for is to say send him out on loan with maybe 30% of his wages paid? Yes then we are wasting a little less money but we don't have any cover for injury crisis, also no player to contribute to the club in other areas, training etc.

Looks like the injury crisis continues with Tim Smith and Danny Kirmond both out injured so Sammut will obviously now get his chance and come in at 7 for Smith against Wigan.

I wouldn't bet on it,

Don't think Jowitt's in the 19 Avenger. I think he'll put him in this week and I hope he rips Wigan to shreds.

Owen is in the squad so if he really doesn't want to play Sammutt he can put Owen at Full Back Johnstone on the wing Miller at7 and Hall at 6. Watch this space!

If you read the match report it did say Sammut copped a late shot and went off at one stage

I don't see Webster as the type of person who would hide behind a lie. I think if Sammutt was fit but he just didn't want to play him, he'd be big enough to say so, not make up an injury.

People just read too much into everything.

Radio Leeds did mention it in live commentary on Friday night too.

He must be something like fit for Webster to put him in his official 19 on Tuesday, I'd have thought he would be ideal interchange with McShane myself

Jw did say 5 of the squad he picked had not trained yet so didn't know who would make the 17

Probably likely that Washbrook will start at 9 for the first 20 minutes with an extra forward in the pack with McShane coming off the bench. Hasn't really worked before but what is the alternative now?

We could rest McShane altogether and play Owen at hooker for the full 80 minutes ........ now that really would please NGB4C !!!!!!

Alternative is start Mcshane and spell him when it's appropriate.
We have to start well and Washy's distribution just isn't quick enough.
Catalan will be in our faces before our forwards have received the ball (just like Salford, Wigan and Huddersfield).
