Wingers, or anyone, not trusting their inside defenders is a pet hate of mine. Fox does shoot in far too readily often leaving his opposite number a free run in.

I don't know if he doesn't trust his inside man or doesn't trust himself to make a 1-on-1.

No I haven't forgotten those errors. I don't say they don't make errors, which player doesn't? I was trying to make the point that out wingers generally speaking are NOT the reason we lost all the games we should have won. You target only Fox and Cockayne - were they the only two who made errors in those games? I think not.
How many games would we have won had not Fox and Cockayne made as many yards upfield for us in EVERY game we play !
All I'm saying is let's have a long look at out defensive strategy before we point the finger at our wingers, often facing a huge overlap and then saying to them 'your fault we lost why didn't you tackle all three of 'em'

This is a sign of what happens when a team start rumours about signing a player.
We should be more than happy to keep our team together and certainly keep a player who has been nip and tuck as our top scorer and certainly our top metre gainer.
Now we are picking his faults and deciding whether he is good enough.

The very fact that Hull KR want him back is a sign of his value. There are obviously better wingers in the league, but not that many, and the ones that are are imho out of our league, so let's keep him and work on defensive structures rather than get rid of one of our best just because he has a dip in form or misses some tackles when he has more than one player to take.

I'd also suggest that HKR's interest in Ben is also down to the threads on here suggesting our demise, they see a bird with a broken wing and want to take advantage!

I have not read the whole thread but for me cockayne would be one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Yes his game has weaknesses as well as strengths, as do ALL players. The one thing that he does bring to the team is effort. 100% intensity for every minute of every game.

If you think our forwards look dominant in games, look how many times fox,cockayne and mathers have taken the first two tackles and made good ground, allowing our pack time to get back into play almost at their leisure.

I would be very disappointed if we let him go, and think replacing what he brings to the team would be more difficult than some on here seem to think.

Agreed - another reason for people to think twice before they rush to post unfounded rumours of such seriousness; nobody would be talking about our 'impending demise' or any such nonsense, if it hadn't originated on this board.

To be fair bren if it didn't originate on here it would only be a matter of time before it would appear on the al-queda forum. Twitter and facebook also allow unsubstantiated rumours go viral.

The winding up petitions alone would point to a business with financial issues. I think they have more credence then rumours on a fans forum.

I'm not suggesting it's the only reason, but it certainly doesn't help; rumour starts here, spreads to Twitter and FB, gets into the media via journalists who these days, get all their snippets from social media. Club Chairman is forced to make a statement denying financial ruin, which is immediately interpreted as a lady protestething too much, and Bob's your uncle - 'Wakefield Trinity' and 'financial ruin' are blithely referred to in the same sentence by anyone with an audience.

Result - a club who had their initial overtures turned down, decides that since the tareget's employer is facing said 'financial ruin,' it's probably worth having another go.

It seems perfectly logical to me; I know I'd do it.

Fox at fault for 2 tries again today, that Foster try was a pathetic attempt my 13 yr old nephew could have done better.

Not me. Said it after the first Leeds game, my patience has run out with him. He offers enthusiasm yes but he is just a liability in defence.

Have to agree on the Foster effort - one of the easiest players on the field to tackle, just needed dumping into touch; that was a softy.

Ben had a right pop at foxy in the corner and rightly so to allow foster an easy step over, he should of cleaned him out

Well, I'm far from happy but Fox wasn't the only one to blame for those tries! There's something very wrong with our defensive strategy we just seemed to cave in when Bradford moved the ball. You just carry on blaming individual players if it vents your anger but I honestly think it goes a bit deeper than that!

No, but he was the one to blame for the Foster try. Pathetic effort. Not his greatest game today, although some of the passes he received gave him no chance.
