Williams partner is pregnant apparently and the pandemic has restricted a lot of family contact. I can imagine homesickness is very likely in such circumstances. It's been hard enough on people living here.

| Quote ="vastman"There speaks someone who's probably never lived in Australia?
I do get that in career terms the NRL is the place to be so for an RL player it's a bit different.
However, living in Australia is not and never was what it's cracked up to be.
Did you know that just under 70% of the British people who went to Australia under the assisted passage schemes of the fifties and sixties returned to the UK within five years, five weeks in some cases! Why, because it was nothing like the ads, filthy hot, dangerous, no NHS or welfare, no relatives, no friends, no seasons, over Americanised, the list goes on
People see Aus these days either on holiday or on TV travel shows and they think that's how it really is, it isn't. Being lonely, skint, and miserable in the sun, despite what you may believe, is just as bad as in the cold.
Most people are a product of their upbringing and although some can break the bonds most can't and become homesick very quickly. Ever wondered why fifth-generation Irish and Italian immigrants still call themselves Irish or Italian Americans.
So there you go, take it from one who knows. Why Aussies seem to manage it so much better the other way I'm not sure but in a way, some are just coming home on probation.

In all seriousness this was typical Trinity luck. He was happy to come over here for the rest of the season then not long before all was to be agreed and signed off Cronulla sacked their coach and the new guy wanted him to stay. Shame as he’d have lifted the mood but we now need to move on and find someone else. Whilst ever we are waiting to see what is happening with him we are potentially missing out on other targets.

He has but how many times on here do people say a contract is not worth the paper it's written on, which is what I said at the start.
When I had way more to do with the club in the Ted era the number of signed contracts that never happened was manyfold. The one I keep mentioning is Westerman as a teenager because I even saw that one! Never happened, well not for 12 years!
If Cronulla decide not to fight I reckon AF will be with us quite soon, I'm willing to bet your house on that

Well, that leaves us with a very juicy quota spot.
I'd love a no 9 or a HB are there any out there?

Shaun Johnson was been offered to SL clubs last week, I would have him in a heartbeat but something tells me he will probably end up back with the Warriors or maybe even stay at the sharks with them missing out on Reynolds who they thought was nailed on.
Kyle Flanagan if you wanted to take a punt, young lad that looked a world beater was sacked off by the Roosters on the basis he didn't deliver a premiership at 21 now dropped from the doggies for a few bad plays, I think a move to SL would do him the world of good, similar to the Hastings move a couple of years back.
He can bring his dad with him as well if he wants

| Still hold out hope Lino will come good for us, thing is I don`t think he has looked terrible and he`s not exactly had a good platform to work from.
Apparently the number 1 requirement at this moment in time is another second rower which I really don`t get.

Not sure what Lino has to do with it I'm already happy with him, he's a decent signing.
However, we are that short of Pivots I think an end-of-the-season deal is what we need if we could find a Hastings but one that's more a hooker than a HB,
J Wood is out for ages, Eaves is a loan, Crowther isn't a 9 so that leaves Kyle.
We may get Miller back soon so that's HB's covered but another who can do a job there wouldn't go amiss. Hampshire and Jowitt are the obvious FB's for this season at least.
Who they get next season is up to the staff.
So is there a Hastings type out there who might want a half-season in SL to put himself in the shop window, it's worked well for us in the past even if it isn't ideal.

Hooker all the way for me, be amazed if Miller & Lino aren't the halfbacks next year.
According to zero tackle (not normally too far off for an unofficial website) there's a dozen.

The most obvious one is Joey Lussick, at least he knows SL and knows life in the UK.
Can't remember if he was any good but he's probably better placed to take up a short-term deal than most?
Says he's at Parramatta but who knows.

He isn't getting any game time at Parramatta so maybe. The impression i got though is he wanted to go back to Australia after a few seasons away so whether he'd fancy it again i'm not sure.

Depends if he's skint. In fairness, it would only be for three month, not like we will be in the play offs

| Unfortunately Granville is in the starting 17 at the Cowboys most weeks and Boyd started at 6 for Titans last weekend...probably need to look a bit further, someone like Marshall-King who hasn't featured much this year

| The problem with any signing from the Southern Hemisphere is can they get a visa and if so how long does it take. We are saved from them having to quarantine for two weeks but I think we will be looking well into June even if we announced a signing now.

Well we have the lad from Saints let's see how he goes it's not necessary to go overseas all the time. Over the years we have unearthed some gems from the likes of Wigan and Leeds A teams
