| A good point, as far as I can tell there's only Sarah and James elston - who have done good work for the club as far as I can tell.
Recruitmentcouldhave been better but was done under difficult circumstances, as for agar I think those who are calling for his head are ludicrous - 8 games played with a squad he has had to try and knit together a brand new squad of players. Yes it's not been great so far, but let's at least give him a fair crack of the whip before condemning him.

| Well Sarah Elston was employed at the Club whilst James was still playing / went to KR etc.. and the work with dolls and community seem good.
Now that she's hitched with James doesnt mean a thing.. a load of marriages come from work environment.

Whatever it is, he certainly ain't earning any of it.
After leaving the Catalans game a few weeks ago full of optimism, the last two performances have left me dispondent. Two very winnable games against teams down in the same area of the table as us and we get beat easily by both and concede 70 points into the bargain.
The defence is a major problem, because bar Hull away (where conditions played a big part in the low scoreline), Widnes who have proved they aren't up to speed yet and Catalans where they only played for 35 mins, we have conceded more than 30 points in every game. Clearly, its no suprise that we have only won two games on the back of a stat like that.
Agar has had all pre-season and 9 games to iron these problems out, and so far I see no evidence of the mistakes we make every week from a defensive perspective being addressed.
The attack which had at least started looking to become decent, has become laboured and predictable in the main.
The team spirit that was evident for the first 7 games seems to have disappeared as well. Comments like "so proud to be part of this team" after the Wire game seem a world away from the body language we have seen in the last two games.
Anyway after that little rant, to answer the topic of the post, if I were Glover I would be :-
(1) Looking to get a couple of props in on loan (given we are playing second rows at prop - I would say any props with SL experience and some size would improve us).
(2) Tell Elston its just not working as far as Agar is concerned and get rid of him. If its the pay off thats a problem, lets start a pledge for survival similar to the Bulls, cos the longer Agar stays in charge the more fans will drift away and we will be back to scraping an existence. I would happily pledge a few hundred to the cause.
(3) Give Southern the option of going home. If he stays then at least that shows a willingness to roll his sleeves up and hopefully improve.

| I know that its been documented i aint been to a match yet this season so wether i can comment or not is down to opinion but i do know this.
1 Im a Gold member and so is the rest of the clan (again)
2 On the basis Ive seen unmpteen derbies i think i can have a little punt on this one.
Wakefield looked beaten coming out of the tunnel which is something im not used to on match day . i even caught a glimp of a couple looking at the naughtyness in the north end . This game means a lot and surley Agar knows that!
It really does make you Ponder on why Hull FC are doing so well.
This is the first time ive shot a coach down particully so early but either the players have little clue how to play the game .
Or the game plan is very very poor or a some of the players just dont listen to the coach and if thats the case then the club needs to nip that in the Bud NOW!
My lads have been telling me how great we are
Really . Can any one else convince me?

I have to admit I am enjoying this season much more than the last couple, the rugby is better, crowds are better and now atmosphere will be better. It is disappointing when results like yesterday and London happen back to back, but Rome wasn't built in a day. As a club we have improved infinitely from last year and I think the whingers and moaners need to remember that we nearly went out of business not long since, the apparantly much maligned James Elston contributing massively to the turnaround.
The people calling for heads to roll 8 games into the season are ludicrous - We are not Wigan, Saints or Leeds, we have had maybe 2 -3 seasons in the SL era where we haven't been one of the whipping boys and realistically we have to give the new staff more time to try and sort us out, its a long season we're playing much more entertaining rugby than when Johnny K was coach - I don't get all the hysteria.

| Don't forget James Elston era an active part of the regime that took us almost to extinction !!!
Some of the appointments made under his tenure smack of the nepotism that existed then
We have never in my memory handed a coach a 3 year contract, especially when it was blatantly clear that Agar was not wanted by almost all the paying fans or customers if you like

I stuck up for both Kear and McNally when a lot of fans turned against them but they had built up a decent reputation amd you could point to better times under them. With Agar you can't do that and his record at Hull speaks for itself. Agar was not wanted by the majority, myself included, as there seemed to be little evidence to suggest that he was the sort of coach who would do a good job for us. With this in mind he was never going to be cut much slack and the last 2 games coupled with our inability to win home games against Bradford and Hull KR mean he's already run out of time for some supporters. I can't bring myself to go to Wigan or Leeds I have better and cheaper things to do and I never thought I'd be saying that.

Its the first time in a long while we have had money to spend 2 wins out of 8 isnt good enough. Losing to london and cas is terrible not just losing but getting beat easily !!! If kear had that money to spend we would be top 6 now. Kear got slated for playing a boring style of rugby but its all he could do with the players we had now we have got good players the rugby is still boring 0 change AGAR OUT !

| Sorry guys I know everyone's entitled to an opinion and the ones expressed on the Wakefield forum are as valid as any but the whipping up of this frenzy and the momentum this anti Agar movement is getting is premature, misguided and I'll informed IMO.
I respect that many of you understand the game and have been watching Trinity or decades but I do not agree!

So what is it that is filling you with so much confidence that its going to come good and all will be hunky dory sooner rather than later. From where i'm standing i'm not seeing any improvement on last year. Yes the style maybe slightly different but the outcome is quite possibly worse bearing in mind the supposedly better players and increase in cap spend. The stats speak for themselves, we concede way too many and score way too few. Ultimately its a results business and we are failing on that count. And the last two games have seen a worrrying lack of desire. I'm afraid i have no confidence that Agar can turn us into a play off team within this licence period, which is the goal.

| Glover is only here because of Elston. His sponsorship prior to that was purely commercial. If he ditches Elston, who does he turn to? He toughed it out last season, has coughed up generously this season - for all those who hold season tickets - and is on the brink of taking the club to another level, result of the PI pending.
The problems we'd face on the field were known the moment we were given a renewed license. No coach in place, no players in place, and a few months behind everyone else in terms of recruitment.
Take the last 2 games out of the equation, and everything looked like it was slowly progressing. If I were Glover, I'd stick with what I have and try to get over the next hurdle, which is the most important one as far as the club's future is concerned. In the meantime, I'd probably be having a few words with Mr Go North, assuming he's a club employee. The rest can be judged at the end of the season.

Completely agree if something is known then let us all know before people vote with their feet.If it is confidential then it should not be said that anything is known.
