| Don't need planning permission. Stands have already been in place before it's just taken a very long time to rebuild them! This could well be a master stroke in the franchising game. If this gets us a license people will look back and say yes that meeting was the most important meeting I've been to in the history of Wakefield trinity.

| I think people need to give glover the chance. If he genuinely comes through on these developments and new inittiatives it could prove a massive boost for Wakefield trinity.
He has sold us no false dawns as yet and shouldn't be judged on previous non runner schemes. He is obviously trying his best to keep the club where it shoul and needs to be in superleague.

well said that man come on sign up, give us 5,000 fans base ticks the box and tick the RFL right off

| Let's not get hyper critical about what we were told tonight, at the of the day Andrew Glover is about to invest a massive sum of money into the temp development of Belle Vue and he should be thanked and commended for that.

| Well, having waded through 10 pages of crap, I'm not wading through any more. Anyone who doesn't think that is a massive announcement is a fool. If you built the meeting up in your own head to be the second coming then that's your own problem. The club only advertised the meeting and made you want to turn up, the fact that you invented whole scenarios of multi-billionaires investing in the club and a brand new stadium having already been built, ready for us to play Huddersfield in this week, or whatever else your flight of fancy decided was going to be announced shows you don't live in the real world. The club said the meeting would be massively important, that it would be the biggest meeting in the club's history. If it keeps us in Superleague, then it will be - don't forget they didn't just want us there to see the plans, they also need the members. They HAVE to have the members if we have any chance of staying in Superleague - the fewer people at the meeting, the smaller chance of this happening. In fact without proper advertising generating a desire to turn up, the meeting was in danger of being all the same people as usual, i.e. all the people who already are members e.t.c.
This news will, at the very least, mean that the RFL can't kick us out and say "they won't have a ground fit for our standards", because we will. Yes, they can still kick us out, but that is always going to be the case - we have just made it that much harder for them, and that is all that we can realistically do at this point.
Although, on the other hand, I can see why many of you think this is rubbish - all those broken promises of Andy Glover's since he's taken over, it's been terrible. Never seen the club so badly run, he just can't be trusted to do anything that he says. Oh no, wait...

| No figures mentioned. Just said he and other investors will fund it. After buying the ground back from the bank of Ireland and redeveloping it for short term use ag is really putting his money where his mouth is. This is a significant investment and could frame the future of our club. People need to look at the bigger picture here and realise if we get the 5k members it is going to be very very difficult for us to be kicked out of sl.

| We have a LIVE franchise bid so we can add to it all the time upto franchise day, this is due to the unrealistic expectation the new company could create a franchise application in 3 weeks so the new designs and number if members will be in our franchise bid and will be used in decision making process

The work will only be carried out if we get a place in super league so in the long run it would be very worth the cost in the short term no licence no outlay!

SO WHAT IF THE MEETING WAS OVERSOLD TO US!!!!!!!!!!
Get real some of you!
The club have explained the need, the urgency and the importance of reaching 5000 members. They ave also now created a number of ways in which to become a member, those being:
* Season Tickets
* Gold, Silver, Bronze Membership
* Spirit of 1873 Club
No one has put a gun to your head, join or don't join it's that simple!
As for the redevelopment of Belle Vue
Who do you think will benefit from Andrew Glover spending his own money to do this?
Answer is you & me & every other fan who attends the ground over the next 2 or 3 years.
* Better terracing on the North Terrace and covered
* New covered West stand with new supporters bars
* More covered seating in front of the hospitality suite
* A new open plan supporters bar on the top floor of the hospitality suite
Jesus Christ! We were almost blinking out of existence 6 months ago!
This redevelopment will give Wakefield Trinity a Super League compliant stadium and it will be ready before Salfords and before ST Helens. It will make Belle Vue better than Odsal, Better than New ven Park and way ahead of Wheldon Rd.
That will put pressure on the RFL!
Short of doing a David Copperfield magic act and unveiling a ready built stadium that had been conjured out of thin air, what more do you want from Andrew Glover!
Forget the Trolls that have defended on this thread who desperately want to dismiss this as nothing more than another drawing, a Richard Wrightesque PR stunt or some kind of con to get Trinity fans to shell out more money.
They don't care about you, they don't care about our club, they only want to pour derision on our plans because it scares the F^*K out of them! Their lives are so shallow that they have nothing else in their lives other than to SH$ stir and fuel the feeling of being let down, ignore them they're nothing!
Now get some perspective with regard to what was announced tonight and stop behaving as though you've been conned.

According to James Elston they can cos they are a new business and can keep doing so until Dday.

I must have missed that information. So basically, Wakefield can go bust and have right up to the deadline to pull a rabbit out of the hat yet Bradford, Halifax, Widnes, Salford etc. have to submit on April 1 and be judged against Wakefield's rolling bid? I can't believe that is true.
Hopefully, this was in the document submitted on April 1 otherwise it should not be included sadly. Every club could do this in that case.

You are entitled to your opinion but this is not the old regime we are talking about here, there's been nothing to suggest that the new owner is anything but sincere and honest about his plans.
So far he has done everything he said he would and I see no reason to doubt that the redevelopment will be any different.
