Is the way I see it too.

MC's trying to clear the debts to ensure we still have a club. The level at which the club plays should be decided on the field. The amount of support we get, especially now, will go a long way to determining the level at which we play at. I realise that the whole thing is more complicated than that, but ultimately, that's what it boils down to.

If we voted on principle to open the leagues up again through P&R, then fair play to us and the other club who voted for the same.

I think the point is that we didn't give the young players the chance they deserved when we could have done. That's what SL franchising was supposed to be all about.

We didn't take the chance because there were so many other issues that were clouding the picture for us, like the need for a new stadium and the other factors involved in scoring more franchise points to keep us in there. With hindsight, this has worked massively to our disadvantage. But it would have been a brave man at the time who tried to do what pretty much all other RL clubs were doing (I exclude the likes of Wigan and Leeds from this).

There's no guarantee that any kid who shows potential at 18 or 19 will make it to the highest level, but I think try scorer's nonetheless right that in many ways, we failed them.

As usual rebel a fair balanced view.

I could also go along with that but of all the times for it to happen next season is the worst possible scenario.
Last season yes, the season after next yes. But its one hell of a time to be fighting for our lives when MC is trying his best to put right the massive car crash left by Glover and Elston.

If Adam Gledhill is so good then why hasn't there been a big queue of clubs after his signature now he has returned from oz? I remember people banging on about his brother after we let him go too, he's now playing for Sale seconds at rugby union.

He had that one good game remember.....

Let us remember that the RL plan also included increases in the number of non federation trained players a club can sign and a reduction to only 10 under 18 teams.

if 17 young men go on the field each week and give of their best, both individually and as a team... then there is no embarassment!

And I, for one will applaud their efforts... even if it is 13000 miles away.

I have watched Wakefield teams get relegated, and some did their best and I was proud of them.

ps its time for the club to stop bleating in the press... If we need to offload, whoever it is, get on with it, regroup with the new sqaud, and go into battle.

Two quick points on your reply Upton Adam gledhill is a far better player and a much bigger build than his brother ,and I don't think we jumped any ques to get our lad

The sport as a whole for me. Best sporting product in the world and without some changes soon we will implode as a sport with all the best talent will drain away to other games and so will what little money is in the sport at all levels.

Oh for the good old days of semi pro RL when Wigan used to be all powerful...hang on have i dreamt the last 16 odd years!!

At least one of the answers (re S/T sales) explains why there were "only 6" sold last week - a correction from an error a couple of weeks ago

After reading that things don't seem half as bad as they did yesterday. £300k needed instead of £400k, new sponsors coming on board and season ticket sales are going ok. Hopefully with Poores big salary off the wage bill we may have a bit of breathing room for maneuver.

I did question this right at the beginning but I think you have handled your self very well on here as it can get pretty hectic on here,
The question and answers on the club site is going to be more easier to control for you but just wait for the doom and gloomers to bring back on here.

Like I've said many many times before,if Wakey won every trophy going year after year certain people would still pick faults,slag players,staff,etc,etc.

As DeeHell said I feel much more positive about the situation after reading those comments.
I would also echo Snowie's post too.
Although I have said I didn't think it was a good thing for Mr C to be on here he has handled himself with dignity under a bit of pressure and negativity.

Seeing as it was me, via email, that asked a large chunk of those questions then i'm more concerned by those i asked he didn't answer than those he did. He dodged a couple of 'difficult' questions there.

Its good that sponsors are still interested but seeing how he has stated that he wanted more value out of the sponsorship this year is he managing to achieve that or ate we on a par with the last year. And have any sponsors walked away and if so why?

MC quoted this at the end of august when he took over. That timescale is not far from up and we have cleared only 100k of it so the chances of quadrupling it in a fortnight are slim. What it the plan of attack from here? Are the crown jewels going to have to be sold?

And how did someone manage to mis-count the season ticket sales?! Counting ain't a difficult task!

Maybe the counting was done by someone from t'other side of the common. Those six-fingered hands actually make counting much harder you know.

Maybe some people upgraded their season tickets and the upgrades were counted as new sales instead? Just a thought.

Even so it hardly inspires confidence.
