| Quote ="muttley cat"captain of our young uns school team came home yesterday to tell us Ketty high have a game with out wood on Friday
think that if the game goes ahead a large contingent of the team will be missing . semi final weekend and most parents not keen on seeing young uns get tired or injured for a friendly that can be rearranged.
if all is the same at your end i think you have at least 2 players at the grange which im sure you will be glad don't have to play twice in 2 days.'"
Turns out Fridays game isn't a " friendly " - it's a qualifier on the road to wembley ... so semi final or not , young sponge wants to play !

yep likewise , unlike what we were told earlier this season it looks like Ketty high have had a change of heart and entered something to play for ,i think its a first for the 12s. maybe the last few results have swayed them
young sponge is a good talker mate , mini mutts now plays both games told me he was tough enough to take on the world . i had to place him in a head lock and then pin him 1,2,3 to prove im 2nd in charge in my house.
lots of stanley players with some eastmoor , cas p and i dare bet others thrown into the mix .
lets hope no injuries, ![PRAY icon_razz.gifRAY:](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//eusa_pray.gif)

| couldn't contemplate telling my lad what he is doing . on Tuesday his coach asked him not to play and being a player who respects his coach he abides him as he has that respect .unfortunately at kettlethorpe the 12s were told they were not in any competitive matches until they saw they were capable of winning. not exactly my philosophy but its only due to a late entry that Ketty are even in a competitive game they were told 2 weeks ago no more training or games until after christmas. with that in mind the coach asked some crigg players not to play. ketty are that prepared they dont know if they are home or away
twas only a few week ago my lad was stretchered off and taken to pinders with back/neck injury hes only just finding his feet again.
should be a good game , shame that Ketty have not trained for near on a month and as said it twas his choice as it was when his captain asked him to play
be nice to see so many familiar faces ![HUG icon_hug.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_hug.gif)

| Only same as Outwood, don't think they know if home or away
Sorry to hear he was injured, never nice for any player but especially the youngsters.
Slightly unfair of the coach imo, should just leave them to it (imho).

| Didn't go myself , but as expected , Outwood won easily enough .
Young Sponge said they'd lost 32-16 (!?) but wasn't as gutted as i'd expected. He said that they'd only got 11 players at dinnertime and so 4 of the lads that played hadn't ever played before ! He was quite chuffed that they'd won the second half & hadn't just given up .
Sounds like Outwood are going to need to up their game if they're going to get much further - but i'd genuinely love to see them or Cas at Wembley in August & cheer on our local lads .
All the best in the next rounds to you ![Thumbs up icon_thumb.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_thumb.gif)

yeah very comfortable , it doesn't help when at 1pm you only have 11 players and a message goes around the year if you want to play rugby tonight and we can contact your parents then put your hand up. but nothing should be taken away from the boys from outwood.
3 of the 7 crigg players were absent but outwood tbf never looked like they were in any danger of losing . and the main thing for me is Stephen although limping off after taking a wayward kick from someone who must of forgot it was not soccer refereed spot on today at Normy and should be fine for sunday.
outwood play a different tempo in their group and it showed.
better prep needed if Ketty want to be considered as a force in this group . no training for weeks since they beat Cathy high quite comfortably that's been it.
finally found a pitch colder that crigg ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif)

yep young spongy got it spot on , we did win the 2nd half and to say the 4 who volunteered were short of game time is understating it . outwood saw that and played to the strengths .
although both IMHO have a long way to go before the 2 cas schools need worry.
difference outwood are trained to win and it shows.
young mutts neck deffo on mend mate as he had plenty of attention applied to it , which piggy backed us many times. ![Thumbs up icon_thumb.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_thumb.gif)

raring to go for Sunday now mate , nothing to much for him to deal with compared to what you get week in week out in div 1 but just a bit funny seeing unfit props trying to get the better ![Laughing icon_lol.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_lol.gif) . poor Ketty fully back took a full on elbow from his team mate at Stanley which goes to show how much outwood wanted it compared to Ketty so the right team on the day progressed.
think young un is more focused on Sunday mate. will be a humdinger.

cas panthers dream is over for another year after going down 10-16 against east hull in a bruising emcounter in which both teams can be proud of their effort.
after conceding a early score we settled down and controlled the remainder of the first half and scored two lovely tries to go in 10-6 at half time, full credit to east hull who knuckled down in the second half and we gifted them the field positon to which they scored two good tries to take the lead, but the game was in the balance for the remainder of the game with some punishing defence on show from both teams
its without doubt the toughest hardest u12s game ive ever seen and i feel that both teams will have mutual respect for each other in the future.the east hull parents players and coaches were a pleasure to meet. ![CLAP eusa_clap.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//eusa_clap.gif)

| fantastic weekend for the Stanley Rangers semi finalists in the barla cup with both teams playing Skirlaugh Bulls
the under 15s beat Skirlaugh Bulls 18-0 in a fiery encounter which was played before our game, the brawl that happened lead to the high tensioned in our under 14s game.
having played a friendly earlier in the year it was far from the same game and the damp foggy weather lead to a more even game.
Stanley playing up hill and had most of the possession and managed to breach their defense half way into the half but failed to convert it.
the amount of times that we had runs on their line but failed to just get over would of frustrated most coaches and to make it worse Skirlaugh then capitalised on a error to level the scores seconds before half time a small fracas kicked off leading to our major play maker being sin binned.
the second half went along in same manner no side taking much advantage of the other sides errors.
finally my lad managed to force is way over in the corner and take the score to 8-4 and that is how the score finished.
needles to say I've no nails left after such a close game, I'd rather see games play like this than roller over teams
Oh and well done to Normy beating Oulton and take top spot in the league, we will be gunning to catch up ![CLAP eusa_clap.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//eusa_clap.gif)

| Blimey Charlie ...what a morning/day that's been!
Did our usual & started off slowly , but that may be harsh on Wyke because they were definitely up for it and were very impressive right from the off . It all looked over at half time tbh at 12-4 , but our lads seemed to find some self belief from somewhere and ended up winning 22-12 ( 5 tries to 2).It was a tremendous comeback in what i'd say was the hardest game that i've seen them play in a long time ( if ever ) , but once they'd got their noses in front they looked like they were on top & weren't going to give the game away .
The Wyke players , coaches & parents were an absolute credit to their club - even in defeat they were full of humour & wished us all the best in the final
Feel sorry that Cas Panthers are out - hope Braytons got some tips for us on who to look out for now though
Hope we can do our league proud in the final .
By the way , i've never felt so nervous/ sick watching a game in my life - god knows how they ALL played so well ![CLAP eusa_clap.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//eusa_clap.gif)

sorry to hear this rob a panthers/crigg final would of been great , congrats to Russ and his team of 12s and another hard match for them with west hull . if east hull make it to belle vue they have done it the hard way.
and likewise the players , parents , club reps and supporters of wyke were a credit to the the sport.
