Come on you can do better than that.
Of course we are skint this season and the reason is staring you in the face! The East stand when open will offer revenue streams that are simply not available at present.
True it won’t make us rich overnight but it will add that extra income stream that will allow us to be more competitive.
The estimate is that if we can sell its facilities along with the pitch and the repurposed Cats bar to the limit it will generate up to an extra 500k a season. That would transform our player budget to a level it’s never been in SL.
What is important to remember is this. When built we will owe nothing for the East stand. From day one every penny it generates goes back into the club. No loan repayments, no debt, just an instant money maker if done right.

So the stand is free but the money will also go towards maintenance, staff wages and costs that weren't in existence before won't they. Also, when do we have to start paying the loan on Belle Vue back?
I'd be delighted if next season we spend full cap (if we're in Super League that is). But given our history and the fact that EVERYTHING at the club is stripped to the bone, I just cannot see it.

Did you not say that Hall probably wasn't the centre we are making him out to be because some also think he might have been a competent 2nd row?

No. What I'm saying is Hall is a centre and a quality one. You only move a good centre to second row if they are not as good or getting older.
I'm saying if people think we should have moved him to second row then they don't think he's good enough at centre, which Hull KR and the fans who are up in arms don't agree with.

Also, sorry if I'm missing something.
If your saying that the club hasn't invested a penny on the East Stand and everything is pure profit.
How by the same token are you saying the club is skint because of the East stand?

| Enjoyed Dagger's spell at Leigh and was disappointed that we lost him. Saints seem to be no longer travel weary (something that, Bongser admits, benefited Leigh in our early season meeting) so the game could be an arduous one for both Wakey and Dagger but you should cut the lad some slack - he'll prove an asset.
A couple of days is not enough to meld into a new team, especially one that is about to face the world champs away. Maybe he'll learn more in adversity and be an asset when you face your nearest and dearest. Wait and see.

Simples.
Because the East stand isn’t open yet so it’s not making money yet, whilst the stand it replaced is also gone. The main money earner simply isn’t there.
It’s not just the East stand, or the general disturbance with the ground renovations but I’d say they have tipped us over the edge this season. No other club is currently struggling with such disruption.
I can give you an even better example. The deal with Wakefield AFC is worth one extra quality player a season. Problem is that deal kicked in this September not now. It has no impact on this years budget.

What your saying makes sense and I'm asking these as genuine questions and not because I'm being negative.
But I would have thought those in the East stand normally are just relocated in the rest of the stadium? So what's the actual here and now loss so to speak?
Future potential earnings I get and the AFC is a good example.

| Well done on his performance on Sunday, he looked okay in the halves and his two kick re-starts gave us a lot of momentum at crucial times in the match. We should be trying them sort of kick offs more regularly than the standard deep kicks.

| Since his arrival he has played fullback, wing, centre and now stand off. He also has a kicking game too, so definite utility value. If we do sort the team out in a season or two could he cement a place in any specific position is a matter I am not sure about.
However the reason for my reply on this subject is for this season. The last few games Max has made quite a few errors in his defensive efforts. His one on one tackles are ,let's face it, pathetic and he really needs to sort that part of his game out.
If we get troops back, will our team be better with Dagger or Max at FB. That's a difficult call. I think Max is better than dagger in many other parts of his game but dagger is a better defensive tackler, who do you pick ?

Think you are been harsh on Max he was all over the place in attack .Had a lot of ground to make up to get to Austin who was at full speed .Nothing said about the two Wakefield players who let Austin get through the gap

| There is no doubt Max had a great game in attack but Dagger would have stopped some of those breaks. It doesn't have to be a criticism of Jowitt. It's just a recognition of one of Dagger's best attributes.

Exactly. Both of them had good games yesterday and both contributed greatly to the win. So much so that I would keep them in those positions vs KR. The pivots have just produced the best game all season so why change it.

| I think you can accommodate both Dagger and Jowitt like we did yesterday.
Dagger offers something different at 6 than any other half we have in pace.
For me it’s a bun fight for the 7 shirt with Dagger at 6 and Max at 1.
Should form fade then we have options to replace players which is great and creates competition for places.

| If Gaskell has gone (although for some reason seems a secret) Then it's probably Dagger and Lino in halves. Bowes and Smith at hooker, Max to FB. That's our strongest spine with our available squad in my opinion.
I have not included Gale in my reckoning as yet we have to see him play, if ever that day arrives

| Agree with all the comments especially Dagger at stand off, he was every bit as good as milky & better on his ball in hand kicking.
With Max his attacking & cut out passing is one of the best in SL, his cut out of two players defending against our two attackers sending
the ball to our winger on over lap was sublime, to miss out two for a 3rd man catch ie, four men unable to touch the ball is skill & should be
recognised ! However I don't think he is 100 % fit & he got a further knock which he shook off.
