Agree my contribution is to the club that I trust will be used correctly, a blog would be good but the draw will be made at games in the summer I would imagine. I dont look for the results as the odds are enormous so if I get someything iys a bonus otherwise the club gets about £8 a month from me if that makes the structures and plauers better over the coming years thats the result for me my pleasure is watching whats on the piych not 4 numbers a week

| I know there are things which need improving with the draw and getting information out to the fans, but we should all be in this for the long haul.
Everyone can see that the club is moing forward (just think where we were 12 months ago !)
The simple fact with the draw, and how pooor the odds are to win the main prize, is that if more is paid out in winnings then less money goes to the club.
If we trust what Mr Glover is doing to run the club, then EVERYONE should support the scheme. Apart from the nuts and bolts of the draw, the 1873 club is
required for membership numbers and in this respect nothing has changed.
Assuming you can afford £2 a week, get your hands in your pockets and support the club.
All the moaning on here, bearing in mind the excellent saving on season tickets this year is ridiculous.
You can have a season ticket and be part of the 1873 club and still have change on the price of a season ticket from last year.

Is this a sly remark? I doubt it is fact.
Jonny Wooton has been pictured on the club website shaking hands with Agar. He also called my partner a few months ago asking if she would be interested in joining the scheme.
I dare say he did start the job, question is, is he still doing it?

It's better than trailing to the newsagents to do the weekly trinity draw or whatever it was 20+ years ago'"
Do the draw live in the Ridings shop at a fixed time each week, either on a thursday evening, if we can get the numbers published in Fiday's WE, or Saturday lunchtime. Get a player or celebrity to make the draw. Make it open and transparent, use match days for awarding prizes, only 25% of draws can take place on match days, people need to know when the draw will be made and where they can see the results.

Perhaps he won the "mega draw" and left to spend his winnings?
Someone earlier said that we should stop moaning as the cheap season tickets make up for it? I joined with my Dad who is no longer able to attend games due to disability so how would he benefit from not having a mega draw?

| Old adage, if its worth doing, its worth doing well.
This has nothing to do with STs, travel clubs, repilca shirts or anything else.
It should be judged on its individual merits and any constructive criticism heading the clubs way, is only because we all want it to be as good as it can be, for any number of reasons.
It started off well, and has slid down hill for any number of reasons. If both us and the club wish for this to be a success, the club will listen and act, and we will continue to give our support.
We all know the club reads these pages, and as others have posted already something is happening.
Give the club time to sort it, and lets take it from there.
On a different note, i think its wrong to discuss the details of an other persons work life on a forum such as this, Players and coaches and the management are all fair game IMO, but i think we should leave the back room staff out of it.
Before anyone says im related, personally know them, i dont have a clue who they were/are/could have been, i just think its a bit out of order, thats all, i wouldn't like it if it was me and i was just trying to earn my crust.

| James Elston just announced on Radio Leeds that there will be a Club 1873 Forum (Q & A) next Thursday 19th January so you can ask all the questions you have.
The Club has listened to Fans concerns and arranged this Form.

| Personally I think there are a couple of things wrong with this scheme. Firstly for me, the whole appeal of the National Lottery is knowing that more often than not someone will win the 'big prize' and if you have a ticket then that could be you! With this one there is only a 5% chance that any one of the sold tickets will win! Secondly I think they are missing an obvious trick with the prizes, everyone who takes part obviously has the club at heart so why not forget about using money as a reward, instead offer Trinity related prizes such as hospitality for two at a home game, signed shirt, train with the team, meal with the team at Nandos, travel to the next away games with the players, season ticket for the next season etc. Personally, I would be more inclined to take part if this was on offer than just paying week in week out for a 95% chance of no one having the winning numbers. These prizes would probably cost the club less and mean more to the fans too!

So you think the appeal of the National Lottery (14,000,000:1), is that there is a better chance of winning, than on the 1873 scheme?
Keep filling in those numbers mate!
If anyone in the 1873 scheme is doing it because they really want to win up to £3000, they should keep their money in their pocket!
I do it to feel like I contribute to the club and if I ever win, well that will just be a welcome bonus.

There is a far better chance of someone winning due to all the combinations being sold. I think all the updates that only say 'no winner again this week' on the club site are negative and wont attract anyone to the scheme, that will happen 95% of the time too! Unlike you, I don't see that this should just be a charity thing.

That is only because so many people do the Lotto!
It's very altruistic of you to be happy that "someone" wins the Lotto each week, but beleive me, I don't care for them - I do it to win it for ME!!!
I am more than happy for the Lotto to keep rolloing over 'til the day I win!
"Charity thing" - what on Earth are you on about??? I don't do it to be charitable - I want to win! It's just that I am pragmatic about the likelihood of it happening and I am satisfied that my contribution helps the club a little.
I am much less happy about the huge profits and terrible charitable distributions of the National Lottery organisation. But I still do it 'cos I would like the dosh!

| For me the club calling a Forum about this is fantastic news and gives people like me the opportunity to ask questions about the 1873 scheme. My only real question is about the mega draws - if the club says there are 2 a year then just tell the fans when they are. Its just a transparency thing for me and some of the people I asked to join the scheme who were sceptical with the recent history of the club (Not AG & JE's fault). Depending on the numbers in the scheme the chances of winning are quite decent for a mega draw compared to the weekly draw as the mega draw was sold with a "guaranteed" winner at the Cedar Court event. I want this scheme to work - it's not particularly about the £2 a week- it's about - Am I getting what I was told I would for £2 per week. Rant over!!

| Whatever people's opinion with regard to the 1873 membership and draw, the major and most important element is that the club has listened, is to have a Q & A forum to better inform it's customers and is willing to take on board ideas. That for me, shows how far this club has come in a sort space of time.

How much did/do people win with Squadbuilder? Nothing. It's a charity donation, to all intents and purposes. The feelgood factor comes when you see one of our juniors break into the first team and do well, and know that you've contributed towards that happening.
Club 1873 is a great scheme for the ordinary fan, with the dangled carrot of a nice little payout if you get lucky. The worst case scenario is you've helped the club retain and develop its junior talent.
Can someone please explain to me why both need to co-exist.

I do the 1873 because I want to help the club and have the odd chance of maybe winning something.
I don't do it [ibecause[/i of the prize. If it was about the winnings I would just keep my money in the first place.
And I certainly don't do it because I want to see someone else win! If anyone wins, I want it to be me.
