Sorry - don't buy that at all - not as being the reason we lost, or that we didn't perform.

IF the players had turned up ready to play, we perhaps would have had a game and perhaps the 3 prop thing may have hurt us. But I don't think Hendo did much wrong - in fact he was one of the few who gave it a go last night (Mr Dependable).

I do agree that we should be trying to get a 4th prop in the side and, although Blanchy went well, I did think it was a waste of a bench spot.

What seems to have happened is that, from 2 years ago when we played well when all the senior players were injured, then fell apart when they came back (some too early), we now seem to have a system where we pick the 17 from those in the shirt and those who have played well in the A-team - which is fine, unless you have 12 backs and half-backs playing well and only 5 forwards. If you take out converted backs and half-backs from last nights squad you will be left with Korki, Tronc, Morro, Fergy and Moore - that's 5 genuine forwards in a squad of 17.

So yes, I agree with the principle you suggest, but it wouldn't make an Ha'peth of difference last night - unfortunately!

Correct and Hendo did for me. Moore might have pushed the offload on too many occasions but wew were chasing the game so I can't blame him for that at least he was trying something.

That performance was unacceptable.

Even if we’d turned up, I don’t think we would have won, Shudds are a good side and in the first half, especially, everything stuck.

However, the team didn’t earn their money tonight, they let down the club, the fans & their boss. If I was J.K and the R.F.L. came sniffing I would feel tempted, this morning, to sack it off and work with a group of players who would put in the effort.

I don’t expect to go down the Cas route of pacifying the fans with sweeteners, all I want is 100% commitment from the players, starting on Friday.

I appreciate we have fronted up against last seasons Grand Finalists in the last two matches, but if you come into a game half cooked and the opposition is up for it, you will get beaten. The majority of the team are on very good wages, far more than the average fan, yet, it’s us who had to pay to watch that abject display.

Couldn't really knock Morrison, Tronc, Korki, Moore or Latu for effort and performance. They will and probably have played worse than yesterday and ended up in a winning side.
It's difficult to quantify the effort put in by the others but the performance of many was certainly nil out of 10.

It's bad enough turning up as a fan every year knowing we're going to get shafted. How do the players deal with this attitude of pre match capitulation?

I can see your logic and I agree I would not have had blanch on the bench.

However lets not forget we had three 'props' and Huddersfield only had two (Crabtree and Griffin) Raleigh is normally SR I believe, but if he has moved up to prop it was still three against three.

can i just say it was a nice surprise to have so many Wakey fans complimenting our team and fans on the way out - in previous years there's been none of that and lots of animosity so cheers those that i spoke to it must have been hard after watching that to want to say anything oh and its still the best £20 i've spent all year

You will do ok this year, you were just unfortunate to meet a team who got 99% of everything they did right last night - we blew you away and didnt let up on you but not every team will - dont let one bad result take away the good start you've made!

Took the missus to the game. After 15minutes she came up to me and told me she was bored and cold and was going to watch it on TV in a pub. She then left the ground.

I suggested she stay in the pub before the game but no.

Maybe he was feeling guilty that he announced before the game he was leaving to take up another job. Will be announced tomorrow as the new England coach - what this space!!!!
