Not a bad idea - the 2,500th could win a hospitality package for the first game of the season; write a press release highlighting the massive increase in uptake etc, get some photo's done handing over a giant season ticket and hey presto, instant media coverage.
Then, the masterstroke; use the press release to announce that we're so happy with the way the Wakefield public have suppported the offer, we're doing a similar prize for the 3,500th ST sold.

Have 2 prize draws to be made a week before MM:
Draw 1: For ST holders 1-2500
A game in the hospitality box with some players/free grub- reward people that made the offer come to fruition.
Draw 2: For ST holders 2501-3500
A game in the hospitality box with some players/free grub + £200 cash prize.
Inspire more people and keep the ST counter rolling over. If we keep pushing this £100 ST offer I'm sure we can get another 1000 before MM.
Now that would be progress! Bought my ST late last year, just looked at the ST number 207! My how far we've come now we're being run like a business!

| It would make sense for the club to announce that we're "nearly there" on Friday even if the total has already been reached. This will ensure a maximum last push on Saturday and an even bigger final pre deadline total.

Unfortunately, all the ideas I have read use the standard "Give money away" to get more people in.
We have already used that by giving the tickets at £100. There is no point having an idea that gets us 3,000 ST at £100 each....netting £300,000 if it costs half that much to get them. We might as well have just sold tickets at full price and accepted we'd only get 2,000 ST sold.
Not an easy job they are doing and I think dropping the price and telling people about it is enough. More boards, more articles in paper by all means.....but not prize draws....IMHO.

| Cash would be a bigger incentive. Hopefully once newbies/stay aways are hooked like us they'll be buying home & away shirts and attending social nights to get them signed!
Fans buy shirts, we just need to entice they in/back.
Realistically a £200 prize wouldn't be that big an expense in the grand scheme of this offer.
A £200 prize would mean the club essentially giving 2 ST's free (£200) in return for another 1000 purchases (£100,000) coming forward. Meaning a net gain of 998 ST's or £99800 for WT.
Not a bad offsetting cost if it means we entice another 1000 people into buying ST's.
(For the record I'm of the Bill Hicks school of though about marketing/people in that business)

It's peanuts in the grand scheme - as G Price said, the cost of incentivising further sales has to be considered part of the marketing budget for the ST scheme, and if it generated a further few hundres sales, it pays for itself many times over.
Always interesting the way people respond to marketing costs - as a wise man once said, "I think I'm wasting half of my marketing budget - the problem is, I don't know which half."

If I were AG and on last day we are short by 20/30 or so I would buy £20 Childs ST's and distribute them in a local school .
Should be a press release with the 2500 achieved!!
Now over Xmas months with frozen prices and shirts for 2012 been released it could make for a healthy off season for the club.

Its getting pretty close and despite some of the negative stuff on here, this is a damn good effort all round and regardless of whether we reach the target, this is a massive increase in S/T sales on previous years.

| Got told by one of the staff in the shop that the price goes up to £175 on Saturday night even if the target has been hit. I hope the club choose to freeze the price as I reckon they could add another 1000 between now and Christmas.
Also, we've all see what Bradford do with attendance figures, so we will count the season ticket holders on every attendance and just add pay on the day fans to the total?

| The BIG mistake the club have made re this is not getting a BIG signing made in advance of the deadline as to get fans excited and to hopefully gain increased season ticket sales from it.
IMHO to increase/improve season ticket sales the club should have drip fed a new signing each day as to build interest, sales and momentum as the deadline approaches. Opportunity missed IMHO.
Instead of Collis been Agars/the clubs first major signing this should have been someone of a far higher calibre (sorry Collis) as to really get the tight folk of Wakefield excited and behind the season ticket push.
IMHO big marketing opportunities missed. Never mind staff buggering off on hols, this really is a major and quite important part of our plans for next season. The right signals and intentions need to be made. If signings are delayed then push back the season ticket deadline?

I agree with most of that. I know people are saying offer signed shirts or hospitality, but nothing will get the fans more interested at this time of year than new signings. I don't know why the club couldn't announce the 5 new signings, and I'm sure they would if possible, but imagine what the impact of a signing each day from Monday would do to the sales.
