You're definately right about the first bit.
I'm not totally convinced on the second part. After the win against Warrington, both Gale and Lino, looked inaffective. The partnership may work in the the championship, but if we do come straight back up to the super league, I'm not convinced on either of them.

| With regard to Atoni let me remind you of Matt King & Pat Richards.
Warrington and Wigan would have happily paid someone to take them away after their first season but from the 2nd season onwards they were brilliant

It can be a culture thing and if Proctor was on a "sightseeing trip", which he certainly was, it can be easy for others to follow.
The whole season seemed odd from the start.
Platers like Hall, who was excellent throughout the previous season, off form and Crowther, who, always, always gave 100% (and still does), pretty much cast aside, when other players were just going through the motions.
Of course, players dont always agree with or, get on with the coach and maybe losing so many decent players to other clubs had an unsettling effect on some who remained ?
Right now, we still seem in limbo, with lots of players finding other clubs.
It will be interesting to see who is still here and just who may be coming in.
Other clubs are already selling season tickets etc and we're going to be a little way behind, which isn't great when we are looking to bounce straight back.

I agree I would steer well clear. Rather have Austin.
I do think we need to bring in a quality halfback for next season though. It’s a position we look lacking in.

We were on the verge of signing Richards until Wigan had a few injuries and the rest is history.

No way can Wigan accommodate all those props they have for 2024.
Im guessing he will be sent out on loan for much of next year along with Harvie Hill (hopefully both to Trinity) then return to Wigan for 2025 replacing Cooper and Mago.

Would be happy if we could get a few hood loan deals sorted like this.
As for Sam, shame as he has a lot of potential to become a very good SL prop. This is the downside to relegation I guess.

This is two rumours that aren’t going away. If they’re in good shape and fitness then they could be good signings.

Hill to Salford on loan is doing the rounds. Personally think Wigan will want Eseh playing Super League rather than championship. Wouldn’t be shocked to see him rock up at London.

Think he will stay at Wigan in their reserve/ U19 set up learning to play ' the Wigan Way' ,rather than going out on loan

Too good to be playing reserves in my opinion.
I think he will have a bit of a baptism of fire in the pre season into that style and maybe spend time training with his parent club whilst on loan.

All loanees train with parent club at some stage, especially if loaned to a semi pro team.

| Cade Cust wigan stand off appears to have been left without a contract at Wigan.
Wonder if he’s worth a look at for a potential signing. Played a good number of games over last 2 years for Wigan.
We certainly need a big prop or two though as well.

Correct but I don’t expect us to be semi pro.
In a full time environment they tend to have catch up sessions but I think Eseh is particular will be brought back to Wigan to train more often than a loan player usually does.
Just watched an interview with him and they ask him about 2024, he swerves it with a response about hitting the off season
And learning the “Wigan way”.

I mentioned Riley Dean a couple of months back as someone I’d love for us to target.
Really rate him but I don’t think his face will fit at Wire.
He would be a cracking pick up.
