That's the most common sense we'll see on this matter; you have to clamp down, otherwise this kind of outrageous behaviour will escalate out of control. We've already seen gratuitous fudge-passing - what's next, grubbering an Opal Fruit? Place-kicking some Skittles? Show and go with a fun size Mars Bar? We're gazing into the abyss here people and only a zero-tolerance clamp down will send the right message to these miscreants - Rugby League is a family sport, and we don't want your confectionary based criminality on our terraces.

When did they take the drum off him/give him it back? I only saw him as he was coming in the ground and again as we were trying to get to the supporters bar through the "corridor of uncertainty" and he had it both times.

Saddened that so many are so quick to judge over an issue they did not see and refuse to accept the judgement of someone who did!

the drum was removed around kick off time. but i did here it very late on in the game so he must have got it back.

the drum and drummer returned about 5 mins from the end of the game which only made the idiots in the area to the left of the disabled area more vocal in their abusive and unruly behaviour. They are the ones who should have been thrown out instead the stewards just stood back and watched them.

They took it off him shortly before kick off and took it out of the ground. Not sure how he got it back because most of the Wire fans moved for the second half.

What's wrong with a drum? Annoying, yes, but it's all part of the atmosphere. The Wire fans were a pain, because there was a certain drunken smugness about it all, but they had paid their money and were cheering their team on. I would defend their right to be a pain, and in their shoes, I would be exactly the same.

For goodness sake, I know we used to be a church team and that Belle Vue sometimes feels like that, during prayers, but let's not stop other fans from making a bit of noise. Their money is as good as mine.

I thought we were pretty vocal Fri night, created a good atmosphere.

The Wire fans were rather quiet I thought. Not outshouted by away fans, for a change!

Here here, seen too much of it at Belle Vue, as for stewards I've only seen jobsworth idiots at Hull FC/Hull KR and Valley Parade.

Steward just doing his job but its unfortunate the way it turned out.
and to be honest, if you (or the thrower) had apologised to teh Steward before he reported it you'd have probably got away with it. From his point of view it is something thrown at a steward from a crowd, which really is an act of intimidation, whether intended or not.

What was the logic for removing the drum I wonder? That seems more unreasonable to me than the ejection of the fudge thrower - surely we want visiting fans to support their team and make as much noise as possible?

I'm cool with drumming/trumpeting etc - I just wish we had some. Throwing missiles that accidentaly hit people I'm less cool with - it's silly and dangerous to throw objects in a crowd, even if it's a small object with inherent comedy value.

Throwing anything is bad and must be disaproved of at once.
We had a £2000 sussy fine for the celery incident and fans even nowadays mention it !!!

I would like to relate the stewarding at the Cronulla home ground... there are a mix of men and women, they are always smiling and interacting with the crowd, showing people where to go and ALWAYS being helpful.

It was the first time I realised that stewarding was just that... not being bossy, bullying and autocratic as I have found at sports grounds in the uk in the past... especially at Hull!
