A lot will depend on injuries.

Liam Farrell got injured in the reserves today.
Ainscough is also out for the season as is Stuart Howarth.
Mossop and Flanagan have been moved up to first team to accommodate injuries there.

That means that the U18 lads have to move up to reserve level.

Not excuses just an explanation.

If Wigan could play the five or six U18 players that played at reserve level today and beat Wire 66 - 6 IMO they would win the U18 academy comp.

It'll be interesting to see how they mix n match in the play off games as it looks as though they have the top spot at reserve level won.

Well done to the lads, it's been a great season and they fully deserve their position at the top.

On the support thing it's the same as the first team in a way, a number of people will know how good they are and appreciate them, but a large number won't.

I know this won't have happened, but how easy would it have been to print 5,000 pieces of paper with a short congratulations to the lads on their achievements and invite people to come down next saturday and celebrate the lads for a one off entry fee of a pound. These could have been handed out to people as they come through the turnstiles tomorrow.

Thats a great idea and one that would have doubled the attendance next week, short notice and a lack of thought will not see this happen though.

Still we can spread the word today.

Yeah think there will be a few injuries. I have heard there were a few for the u18's wire side on Saturday against Wigan, wrong end of the season for injuries. Hope all who have been in all these very good teams make speedy recoveries in time for playoffs, I think they are in 4 weeks but not sure...

Wire U18's I heard had a few injuries on Saturday mate against Wigan, so think it will be a tough game against your guys. Hoping all teams involved recover in time for playoffs though as should be interesting....

Wiganreserves have now finished topat reserve level. They play their last league game v Cas on Sunday.

The academy games v Saints and Leeds are later next week, so we should be able to pay some of the U18's that heve had to play in the reserves.

So if you can beat Wire then I fancy Wigan to finish second.

It will depend when the game is. We go on holiday on 17th Sep. for two weeks.

well worth the entry fee but wonder if the club will open its gates so it might encourage some that have not seen these lads play, would be nice to see a good crowd

Should be a good game although wire u18's suffered some injuries last week in the game against WIgan from what I have heard, so will be tough encounter
